Paz is a great vet that has been super convenient for my family. I have two dogs and while it can get quite expensive to have them both looked at the piece of mind is worth it. The tech and vets listen to our concerns and are always prepared for the conversation. We rescued a dog who is very nervous and she likes being with his dog brother as it makes her feel more confident. Paz South was super accommodating and let us do their appointment together. Our rescue had a weird looking thing in her eye but after the appointment the vet did additional research and confirmed with us that she wasn't concerned with it. I thought the after hours text was a nice touch that added to the experience. Not to mention, the adorably decorated rooms - which look like little dog apartments are so fun and my dogs love chilling on the couches during their appointments. I think it makes the whole thing more enjoyable for everyone involved. The staff here is great

I took my cat in for her regular grooming today (west Paz) (sedation) and paid over 550.00. I understand inflation but I have used Paz for 6 years and each time I say it is my last. Today was my last. I usually pay around 350.00 and was expecting that. I questioned the increase and was told that it was due to added vaccines that they administered. My cat had been throwing up in her cage and was covered in it. She had not been cleaned up or wiped off. I came home and called several surrounding vet clinics and none of them were close in price. I have used Paz for all 5 of my animals and am done. I am attaching pics of this 550.00 grooming job. It's terrible and needs to be corrected. I am so disappointed in what Paz has become. I recently got a quote to spay my newly adopted male kitten from Paz and I was told it would be around 1,000 depending on sedation. I went to amicipet and it was 80.00. I won't be returning to Paz.

I have mixed feelings about this place. On the plus side, everyone I interact with is friendly and professional. The atmosphere doesn't feel like a doctor's office, which is good. It feels very hip and trendy, most likely to keep the dogs calm. I have two dogs and only one goes here. My other dog goes to a vet in downtown Austin that very much has a vet/doctor's office vibe.Despite the atmosphere, my dog hates going. I have to carry her in and hold her the entire time. My other dog who goes to the vet downtown actually likes going and gives the nurses kisses while getting shots.I feel like the experience at Paz doesn't feel polished and is a bit chaotic despite the more modern atmosphere. That's my guess as to why my dog is freaked out by the vet. There's always a lot of waiting, nurses and vets coming in and out of the room, multiple people touching the dog, etc so the experience just isn't streamlined. The dog doesn't know what's going on and gets passed on from person to person. The staff has the right intentions but just needs better execution to make visits calmer for the dogs.

Excellent care for my dog, and she does not have to be dragged in… The vet and techs answer all questions and explain well.

They were friendly but NOT helpful at all. My cat had fleas and they prescribed her a medicine but didn't have any places to recommend to pick up. They said "call around" I wasted hours looking for places without any guidance. I also had my cat get an exam for the first time there, it was SUPER PRICEY and didn't even look under her tail to see if her anal glands looked healthy. It's crazy how much they charge without doing a thorough check up. It almost seems like they put more $ into the place rather than the care of the pets.

From the reception desk answering my worried call-she helped make an appt same day. Was greeted by Nurse Becky who helped our pup feel comfortable. Dr. Sherinian also made him feel at ease. Her communication style and level of care is exactly what we’re looking for in a vet. Thank you guys for taking care of our sweet boy :)

Friendly and knowledgeable staff and doctors at Paz South are an empathetic and really welcoming team. I'm always asking 100 questions, and they're so patient with me and help me understand our furry friends' conditions, treatments, any prep. or at-home care we need to do, follow-up, and what not. With the pups and cats, Paz South folks are amazing. I brought in a 15 year-old cat who hasn't seen a vet in going on a decade, and cat was chill because they were chill, and he's already feeling better on his way home. The waiting room has a section for dogs with couches and toys for playing and a separate section for cats behind a Cat Wall. Paz South staff think of all the extra details so our furry fresh companions can stay fresh and be comfortable. Thanks so much, y'all!

I really wish I was able to write a better review but after spending thousands of dollars , I am SO disappointed by the level of care my puppy received here.I rescued my 9mo puppy at 12 weeks who was previously treated for Giardia. After treatment she had constant stomach illness to which the doctors at Paz always wanted a fecal sample. They proceeded to give her the same Giardia treatment 3x with no improvement or consideration this issue was non-related to her Giarda. Her illness was, at times, so extreme that I feared her getting dehydrated and declining and Paz refused to expedite her prescription (which ended up taking two full days to be ready). When I expressed my concerns, they robotically recited their prescription turnaround time while neglecting the situation at hand.My other dog was seen by the vets at Paz as well for both yearly shots and a concerning bump, which required two visits to resolve. Every time my dogs were seen for an issue it required at least two visit, and a phone call with the vet thereafter begging to be taken seriously. It's really disappointing to think about the money wasted at Paz, but also the time that my puppy has been sick due to the carefree approach that the vets here took rather than investigating a deeper problem. Once seen by another vet, they advised Giardia was clearly not the issue and did ultrasounds and extensive panels to eventually diagnose her with IBD. I had no problem paying a premium price here but I feel it should come with the highest quality of care, which was not provided at Paz.I do very much appreciate their patience while working on my pets and their fear free approach to vet care.

Charlie Ann loves her vet, finally! The staff here are all super friendly and helpful when it came to our visit. Charlie scratched her cornea and it was no easy fix! They were very helpful and also gave us a city employee discount! If your dog is nervous or aggressive call ahead because they might give you a room to wait in! All around super affordable and great service.

Their pricing is ridiculous. I was recently charged an extra $35 for cytopoint (allergy shot) because my dog gained 1lb. I've been going there for years and well that was my last visit. I realize it's a business but at least pretend to care about your customers, especially the long term ones. It's a money making shop.

I am deeply disappointed in Paz and have to share my alarming experience. I have been a loyal client for over three years and paid premium fees even during times when their services were subpar, with one goal - To have prompt support If my dog ever faced an emergency. However, I was left in utter disbelief and betrayal during my dog's most critical hour of need.My dog suddenly began vomiting blood, a situation that I believed was a clear emergency. I immediately reached out to Paz, fully expecting prompt assistance or at least some direction on immediate steps to take. Instead, I was met with an outright refusal to see my dog. No empathy, no advice, and certainly no semblance of the care and support I had expected and paid for over the years.Their indifference in such a critical situation was not only shocking but also inhumane. This blatant disregard for an animal in distress and the complete absence of professional advice is not only shocking but raises serious concerns about their commitment to pet care and ethicsFor a veterinary clinic to turn away an animal in distress, especially one that is a long-standing patient, is not only a failure of their duty but also a glaring indicator of their lack of compassion and professionalism. This incident has made me question the integrity and ethics of their practice. The icing on the cake was the male receptionist hanging up when I asked for their name.To anyone considering Paz for their pet’s care, please think twice. This is a vet clinic that is unresponsive and apathetic during an emergency is not a place where you want your beloved pet to be treated. I am now left seeking a new veterinarian who values their patients and understands the essence of emergency care and empathy.
