Edit 10/14/2024: I was contacted by customer service via email and they politely and promptly put me in contact with the doctor so we could go over my retinal images that had been previously overlooked. The doctor was very apologetic and kind and explained my results in detail over the phone. I appreciate the care that MyEyeDr took to make things right!
Original review 10/3/2024: Just a bit of a mixed experience. Went for an annual checkup and it was fast and friendly service. The doctor was friendly. And other folks were very helpful when it came to ordering contacts. However, in the past I've normally been a patient at a different MyEyeDr. location (another state) and at that location, they always asked me if I wanted to opt-in for the retinal imaging as it was an extra $35-$39 and not a mandatory part of my annual checkup. I don't know if they have a different policy at this location or what, but they didn't ask if I wanted to opt-in and they took the images and charged me without a discussion first. Maybe it's just different here, fine. However the biggest concern came later when I was in the room with the doctor. My retina images (that I paid extra for) were on the desktop screen but she never even discussed them with me. I still don't know what the results of those were (I might be more concerned but they have always been healthy in the past so it's whatever I guess). But still. It felt like a weird situation in that regard. The doctor dropped the ball with the images but other than that it was a fine experience.

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the horrible service I received from Michael at the front desk at your optical store. My experience was a complete letdown, and I'm surprised that a reputable establishment like MyEyeDr would tolerate such poor customer service.
On 06/21/2024, I visited your store to get my eyes checked and was greeted by Michael, who seemed distracted and unfriendly. He barely looked up from his phone to acknowledge me, and when he did, he didn't even bother to smile or introduce himself. I felt like an afterthought.
I made it on time for my appointment and I checked in online. When I asked him about the wait time, he told me it would be about 15-20 minutes, but ended up taking over 30 minutes to call me back. When I asked to reschedule my appointment for a later time, he became irritable and told me that it would be no problem, but then proceeded to inform me that they were fully booked for the rest of the day. I was left feeling frustrated and disrespected.
The lack of attention to customer service is unacceptable, especially at a medical facility like an optical store. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy. Michael's attitude and behavior fell short of those expectations.
I hope that you will take my feedback seriously and take steps to improve the customer service at your front desk. I will be sharing my experience with friends and family, and I hope that you will take steps to ensure that future customers DO NOT have to endure the same poor service.

I arrived late for my scheduled eye exam by 10 minutes because of Austin traffic, and I called the front office because I didn’t know where to park. The front desk staff advised me to park two blocks away in a parking garage but that they didn’t validate parking. He also told me that if I didn’t get there in 5 minutes they would have to reschedule my appointment so I raced to the office and still didn’t get seen for a whole hour after my scheduled appointment time. The only good part about my appointment was Dr. Salazar.

I recently visited MyEyeDr and had a thoroughly disappointing experience. Despite checking in online, I had to wait over an hour to see the doctor. To make matters worse, people who arrived after me and checked in on-site were seen before me. Michael at the front desk was sarcastic and condescending, adding to the frustration.
The actual visit with the doctor was extremely brief. I was prescribed glasses, but the process that followed was a nightmare. Michael, the sales agent, insisted I pay for the glasses out of pocket, even though my insurance covered them. Abby from the back had to step in and show Michael how to properly charge my insurance.
To add to my frustration, I received no assistance in choosing my glasses. I've now been waiting for over two weeks for my glasses, and when I called to inquire, I was told it would be another week. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I will never return to this location.

I’ve visited Dr. Richards twice, and she’s always on time and professional. The opticians Michael and Chris are experts at their job. They carefully listened to my preferences on styles, and helped me picked two different frames for my difficult prescription. I’ve visited this store before and after the name change and acquisition and have noticed no slippage in quality and professionalism.

I was visiting Austin from Australia. walked into the store after my main spectacles had fallen apart with a screw missing. The help and assistance was fantastic and 5 minutes later I walked out with fully repaired specs - thank you very much! ?? And the even better part - no charge, wow!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MY EYE DR!Buyer beware. Check their Better Business Bureau score for headquarters in Vienna VA - 1.3 out of 5.MyEyeDr took over Stars in Your Eyes a small, local, Austin business. They lost my favorite frames when I was having new lens installed. Charged me 50% of the frame cost to replace the ones they lost. months without these glasses.Then months later send me to their collection department to collect more funds. They call and text my mobile day and night refusing to stop when I tell them I will go to the store to resolve.I go to the store and no one can help me. I have to go twice because their new 1 hour lunch closure is not listed on their website or phone office hours message. Their customer support team can only collect money and had no idea how to close my account.STAY AWAY!
