If not for this organization a lot of us aged and disabled at home would be almost forgotten. It's so nice to be visited each day with a smile, freshly made food and fruit and plenty of great attitude from the volunteers who came no matter what the weather did just about. Plus they provide food and toys for my companion therapy cats, as well as litter every two weeks, as a matter of fact I was just visited by the volunteer. Today's healthy meal is hot and delicious ? it's chicken marsala sweet potatoes and a nice carton of milk a huge piece of Texas toast and green beans. Plus homemade applesauce. I enjoyed it all. And I'm so happy in my tummy! Ty to all the folks who haven't forsaked the elderly! We ran the world pretty darn well up till now!!!! Lol ty very much for the whole organization!!

It's hard getting them to answer the phone, but once we met face to face, they were really helpful

As a participant of meals on Wheels I am grateful this such a program exist as I am 54 years old and disabled these folks have been a staple in my being able to live in my home on social security disability, because if all I had to live on was the social security it would not be feasible meals on Wheels or Central Texas has made it very possible for me to be independent and live in my home and for that I am very grateful God bless you meals on Wheels of Central Texas.

I've had a long history with the Meals on Wheels organization. Back in the 1980s in North Texas, my grandmother who lived alone had them delivered every day. I remember as a little kid being so impressed with her getting a hot meal delivered by these nice people.Fast-forward to when my parents were aging and living in Temple. Once they could no longer drive, MOW stepped up and delivered them The meals every weekday. My sisters and I could only come on the weekends, so it was wonderful to know that they had these lovely people pop in every day to make sure they were OK as well as delivering nutritious meals. After my parents death, I began the process of looking into being a volunteer myself. Then Covid hit, and I wasn't able to do it. But as of this spring, they have resumed hot meal delivery and I became a volunteer myself. Even though it is only one day a week, this is such a life-changing experience. The route is designed to take only an hour to an hour and a half and I look forward to it every time. If you are able to volunteer from 11 AM to 1 PM on a weekday, I would highly recommend taking a route. But this organization does so much more. They except volunteers that can help with pet stuff, home repairs, grocery shopping and other things if there's no weekday availability for a volunteer.

These people never or hardly answer the phone. Plus, I applied for mother 84 back in 10/2021 and she still is waiting 4 months later. Also, they do not service disabled people like other meals on wheels every where but killeen. Ai much money on grants and still the lack basic needs for elderly..

They’ve been a great help to me for many years. Making sure you have a balanced meal to eat when your health discourages you from eating at all. The people who come to your door super nice. And then I was surprised to find out they’ll actually help you with two of your animals to take some pressure off of your cost of veterinarian care. And you can get on the waiting list to get help with Pet food as well. Ive read that sudies show that people have pets live longer.

MOW of CT serves Travis County. However, they send donation mailers to Georgetown, which is Williamson County. MOW of Georgetown is its own entity/business entirely, and many seniors send their donations by accident to MOW of Central Texas. I do not think it is appropriate that my mother in law has been giving to the incorrect MOW for years now...it seems they poach on the easily persuaded seniors.
