I first started going to MADabolic in 2019 in DC and Northern Virginia and when I moved back to Texas two years ago, of course I signed up at the Austin location (typically go to the South location). This gym is THE BEST! I really appreciate that the coaches get to know everyone on a personal level, watch form, and care about technique. It's not about cranking out the movements but actually completing them in a thoughtful way. And because they know us, they know when to push us and bring heavier weights (good and bad lol).I'll also say it's like a chosen family in the way everyone looks out for each other and other small, local, businesses. I've made wonderful friends. This vibe is definitely my tribe!

Not only are the trainers so helpful with showing how to do the workouts and ensure you’re doing everything correctly, everyone that goes to classes here are friendly and a blast to workout with. Highly recommend coming to a class - try 5 days for $5!

MADabolic is the epitome of the phrase "work smarter, not harder". If you are seeking a fitness community that will tell you to go hard all the time, meet PRs and chase reps despite your terrible form, or participate in unsustainable challenges that promote overtraining, this isn't the place for you. What you will get? INTENTIONAL and FUNCTIONAL programming, SIGNIFICANT and SUSTAINABLE results, and a caliber of trainers I have never seen in any other group fitness setting. Whether you are an athlete or just trying to improve your day-to-day life and physical fitness, I highly recommend this gym. Before I joined MAD in 2019, I considered myself "very fit" but sustained injury after injury (shoulder and back) due to overtraining. I was lean but exhausted. I can now say I am probably the strongest and most motivated I have ever been thanks to the community here. The culture of accountability and commitment is apparent in the amazing members and especially the ownership and training. Real results come from a focus on making sure everyone knows exactly how to perform/modify each movement, how to properly prime for the class, and most importantly, how to correct improper form during class (something I feel is uncommon in a space outside of one-on-one training). You can also count on any one of them to light a fire under your a$s if you're caught slacking or not living up to your potential! When they say "be great, not late" they are NOT joking... a good lesson in accountability :). Don't show up late. Not even a little. You won't get in. Every minute of your trainer's time from demo/warmup to your last rep is incredibly intentional and important to what you and others get out of the class. I live 8 minutes away and still leave 20 minutes early so that I can more than ensure I get there on time (never know with Austin traffic!). That's how much I love this place. If you try it out, you'll understand too.

Great place and great staff. The only people that leave negative reviews here are the ones that obviously can't follow the rules and have bad experiences every where they go (as evident by their long lists of 1 star reviews).

I've been going to MAD for five years and it's the best gym experience I have had. The workouts are efficient—get in, get fit, get on with your day. The programming offers a great balance.Big shoutout to the original crew — Jon, Casey, and Ryan. These folks are amazing and make you feel like a part of the family from day one. The new trainers are great additions to the team as well! If you're looking to change up your fitness routine, this is the place.

I visited this gym through ClassPass. I thought the setup and class formats were pretty solid for functional movement and strength training. The problem with this gym is the ownership however. The owner, Jon, is a used car salesman at best. I met him my first visit and he acted like he was thrilled I was there. After a couple ClassPass visits I started to get nearly daily texts from the owner asking me to join. When I politely told the owner I needed yoga and other less impactful forms of workout to keep up my flexibility, etc… and that I would rather keep using ClassPass, he wouldn’t accept that. He told me they would be eliminating ClassPass shortly and I needed to make a decision on whether to join. I then got hit with constant promotional offers and signup requests for the next couple of weeks. When I again politely declined, he didn’t remove MADabolic from ClassPass, he just blocked me personally from being able to signup. He then had the audacity to continue to send me promotional texts months later. The last time i saw him at his gym he didn’t so much as acknowledge me. I thought I was alone in this till I mentioned it in conversation to a friend of mine. She had nearly the same experience. Decent gym. Obnoxious, fake car salesman as an owner.

I have to give MADabolic Austin South 5 stars for sure! This gym has helped me push thru a few old injuries, make moving thru life easier and become more confident on my dirt bike! I would have to say the owner and coaches are what truly makes this place great! Keep up the good work and thank you!
