Can't make a review, but I don't think this place exists anymore. I was looking for amp repair, but the number doesn't work. I am sure they were good based on previous reviews, so for now I will give them a 3. If they exist and update the phone number, I will give an honest review.

Friendly service and the main thing: he fixed my amp without trying to sell me extra stuff. Honest business!

I don't trust my amps to anyone other than Ben, and any serious musician should have the same mentality.Ben is very knowledgeable about tube and solid state equipment and is honest/upfront about what needs to be fixed on your equipment. He also shares simple tips on how you can participate in the upkeep of your equipment. I've been taking my amps to Ben 1-2x a year since about 2016 for routine maintenance and my gear has not failed in the studio or on stage since he began servicing my gear. It's important to support local music businesses, especially in Austin. I only recommend Joe's amps to fellow musicians. After your first time working with Ben, I'm sure you'll do the same.Gear taken to Joe's:Fender Bassman 100TGK 800RB

Ben’s got my loyalty. I dropped off a fritzing Deluxe Reverb that had sat in a garage for years. He set clear expectations at the start (including the probable actions and costs, and the two-week queue), and then beat them. When I picked it up I also got an impromptu performance to verify the amp was like new!

I had a bass speaker that stopped working, and got it fixed within a day. Great service and turnaround time for a fair price.

I found out about Joe's Amp Repair through a Google search. He had the highest rating and glowing reviews.I had purchased a Chinese Stereo HiFi Tube Amp from that famous online auction place. After two months the RH channel went weaker than the LH channel by about 40% or so. There was no schematic for the amp. I had purchased it new BTW.I gave to Joe aka Ben and he had it back to me in a couple of weeks. He's a busy guy ya know. Bad coupling capacitor on the driver tube.I won't go into what happened with my interaction with the vendor I got the amp from... let's say I came out smelling like a rose on the refund.Take your tube equipment to Joe! He is honest, forthright and above board on the repairs and gives you the old parts back!

I recently moved to Austin and was looking for an amp repair shop for my vintage Ampeg and my Supro and was referred to Ben at Joe's Amps and am totally pleased with the service- great guy, very knowledgeable and dissuaded me from buying yet another amp I don't need! Sounds advice!

If you’re looking for a real genuine guy and need quality work done and much faster than any amp repair place in town, look no further. Ben rescued my 12 year old Deville and now she’s screamin’ like an eagle. I’d recommend anyone to trust him for their amps as well!

Just had my 6505+ repaired on 4/10/2021. Joe's amps is hands down the best amp repair shop in town. Ben is incredibly skilled, super honest, and very responsive. Do not go anywhere else in Austin if you need your amp worked on.

I was totally impressed with the speedy repair and the quality. My amp is an old 72 100 watt super lead Marshall. It always makes me nervous to drop it off with someone because you never know how competent they are. But this place is the stuff,my amp hasn't sounded this good in probably 35 years. I'm an old 80's rocker and he really cleaned up the electronics and installed greatly matched tubes. Randy Rhoades and George Lynch sound is barking through it. No doubt best repair she's ever had.
