Chose Dixon's because of the "positive reviews."
I had them LS swap my 1987 Silverado V10 because I didn't, and still dont, have time or a shop or garage big enough to do it myself. I drove the truck up with a tired tbi350/700r4 combo in it, and a used "complete pullout" LM7/4L60E in the bed, ecu, pedal (dbw) and all.
No issues with the original engine/trans in the truck before other than the A/C needed to be pulled down and charged, and the lack of power and fuel mileage of course.
Long story short, I get it back 5 1/2 months and a small fortune later. It has a coolant leak, A FUEL LEAK, a grinding noise that turned out to be my xfer case, and an A/C that has a "chatter" when you turn it on. The xfer case had NEVER made any noise, but when I droving it home it would grind intermittently. I messaged Dixon's about it while driving home, and the days after, and just got..."check the u-joints", "try turning the a.c. off, might be the tensioner chattering".
I don't even have 350 miles on the swap, the majority of which was driving home, and I've already had to go back through the fuel system, had to rebuild my xfer case, hook up my tranmission lines correctly because they ordered the wrong radiator then didnt hook up the trans lines to the radiator, only to the little factory aux cooler. The aftermarket aluminum radiator they ordered and installed has trans fittings on the drivers side, my transmission lines are on the passenger side, so they just hooked them up to the original 10"x12" aux cooler - lucky it didn't burn the damn transmission up on the way home?! Very unprofessional.
They are nice over the phone, and in person for that matter, but that's the only positive. Ultimately, when it comes down to it, a nice crook - is still a crook. I highly suggest taking your repair/project somewhere else, these guys are shiesters.

Where do I start, the friendly and helpful attitude was apparent from the moment we walked in. They gave us accurate information and recommendations and we didn't feel pressured to take the service at all. Our car was treated with care, they offered warranty on labor and parts ! They took the proper time to do a job well done indeed! Thank you Jerry Dixon we will be coming back.

After bringing my vehicle to Jerry Dixon shop to get my A/C system, alternator issues repaired to my 81' Cutless, and driving it 5 x after pick up alternator belt continuously kept busting and a/c has gone out. For the cost of labor, and part you would think warranty would be extended longer than 6 months. In the process of dealing with the staff here at Jerry's was not very pleasant and welcoming. Very disappointed w/ the amount of money spent and effort they gave to assist with my vehicle issues.

Chosen this place for the reviews.
When calling In I was assured my car would be garaged when not being worked on however, however it was left out in the elements and rusted.
Garaged 20 years only to have the panels rusted at the shop.
Anyone who lives in TX knows how brutal our weather can be, and to have an antique in rain, hail, and the blistering sun after setting the expectation it would be covered is extremely disheartening.
They should have never set the expectations , and I wouldn't have been so disappointed.
On top of that, I was told the liquids were full and my engine oil was bone dry and my antifreeze line had a leak. If I'm paying over 20k for a service, I expect a high end service.
A real bummer I didn't get the experience the rest of the reviewers got, as I saved over 3 years to get my car running.
I work in sales and if my customer had this experience, I promise you I wouldn't have a job.
I've added before and after photos, as the first was taken before the loading truck.

There’s very few reasonable, honest, and trustworthy shops in this space, and Jerry Dixon is one of them. Full restorations, which is what they worked on for me, are always going to cost more than you anticipate due mostly to uncontrollable unknown items (and a little lack of self discipline) but these guys did everything they could to keep costs down and execute in a timely manner. They’ve also stayed true to their word post build and have honored their warranty. Great people.

Took care of my '94 bronco. There was a lot wrong, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was working smoothly for me. Several complex parts were flawlessly fabricated on site. They even took the time to make sure that my new shocks matched the paint color! I also noticed a number of other thoughtful details that were fixed just because they could. I would absolutely recommend Jerry Dixon to anyone with an older vehicle.

Not only do they lie to you, they charge you for parts that are not even in the car.. After 11k in repairs and body damage to the car due to negligence, it was returned to me 4 times and still not starting running at 220 degree and a laundry list of other problems , clearly they had no idea what they were doing. The car was towed to a different shop with someone who knows what they are doing, and fixed the car in 4 days after Kelly Dixon having the car for 6 months. He found they charged me for parts they installed then removed realizing they had the wrong part...they also installed the incorrect parts , the worst part of all was the lies...They spoke to my brother whos a retired mechanic, they lied to him also. Fortunately, the car ended up at professional shop who cared for the car didn't damage it and got it working as it should be. This was my diciest mothers 85 Mustang GT and these people could care less, after the 5th attempt, they ghosted me as I waited another 2 months to get it back in , I called emailed text NOT ONE reply....as the car sat for month not running...WATCH OUT FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!! I will be filing a law suit this week....

In May 2023 I flew from Burbank, CA to Austin, TX to possibly purchase a 1965 Corvair from a private seller. Prior to my trip I arranged to have Dixon's Automotive evaluate the car. The seller and I brought the car to Dixon's one morning and that afternoon I had a very thorough and detailed report. The report was mostly positive, so I bought the car. Everyone at Dixon's was both fully professional and very nice. They spent over an hour to go over the report with me. I highly recommend them. If I lived in Austin I would have them do the necessary repairs.Services: Auto engine diagnostic

My husband Luis and I can’t say enough good things about Jerry Dixon’s! They’ve done tons of work on his classic cars and trucks (from basic repairs all the way to engine rebuilds) and have squeezed our daily drivers from America to European made vehicles for some standard maintenance. The quality of work is excellent, service is always wonderful and it’s really the only shop in the Austin area that we trust, hands down!

I had a problem and Kelly responded quickly. He was very polite and he resolved it quickly. I would recommend him. He takes pride in his work and company!

WOW. Kelly, the owner, the morning after posting my review, called me personally. What happened after that is some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. He heard me out, told me they wanted to make everything right as best as possible. Also, he mentioned that his dad's name on the business and he takes it personally when a customer has a bad experience. I mentioned to Kelly that I use my truck fairly regularly, so he said he'd move fast on my job. I also mentioned that it cost a bit of money each time I go to/from the shop with a rideshare and he said he'd even cover my rides. So, I took my truck in. Kelly personally handled my job and everything was corrected and finished the same day! The only reason I ended up picking it up 2 days later is because they kindly offered to dig even deeper on a difficult speedometer and had to order a part for it. And, while they were under the truck, they even noticed my transmission was extremely low on fluid and topped it off. Happy to chalk this one up to getting our wires crossed. And, seeing how well they took care of the situation, I'd have no reservation in working with them again. Thank you, Kelly!

I moved to Hill Country, Texas in November and was worried about finding a place to bring my classic vehicles for service. Fortunately, I met a guy in my neighborhood who spoke highly of JD's. I brought my '68 GTO in for service on two different occasions and each time they did a thorough job fixing the issues. They are honest and upfront with customers and didn't try and oversell me on things I didn't need and do a great job keeping customers informed of findings and recommendations. JD's prices are fair and they always use quality parts each time. Aaron, Vito, and the entire crew at JD's are great to work with and you can feel confident leaving your Classic with JD's.... KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

Came in yesterday to get my new clunker looked at and Kelly took the time to show me everything he thought will need fixing on it. Even though they don't work on old motor homes, he gave me the number to another shop in town that could help me out, and even went ahead and tightened up a belt and gave some things to keep an eye out for with the thing, which was awesome. If you have an older car you want to get looked at or worked on, I'd bring it here before any other place. They'll take care of you and your car 100%

Stay away. Charges on bill seem to be made up. $37.60 for a $9 fan belt. $50 to put it on when the truck was already apart. $17 dollars fror ANOTHER belt _truck only has one.? Overfilled rear diff by filling it while rear end jacked up- fluid all over. Missing 2 of 6 bolts on new radiator. No overflpw tube on radiator. Put dirty old coolant back in new radiator. pdiator price went from $800 to 1600 . Left truck sitting out side after being told not to, so several hours buffing time on my part.
