Just wanted to thank Mrs. Teresa Lewis and Mrs. Daisy Phillips for embracing a soul such as mine. As a Non-Traditional student,I was apprehensive in my failure ,with regard to furthering my education. What I learned was far more practical than that, derived from a degree A personal, genuine love for each soul passing thier way, continues to light my way in life.Years later after leaving H.T.,I seen Mrs. Lewis in Bartlett Texas, she knew who I was and I could never forget her.I thanked her for caring so much, and again, she said the world needs people like me. I wear that with honor. Thanks Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Phillips. I love all the strong Mothers that believe all kids our thiers

My daughter applied to this institution and was accepted and offered a full scholarship. She was also offered a full scholarship at another school and declined admission at HTU. She informed them that she would not be attending. She never visited this school nor enrolled in any classes or registered at this school. However last December they mailed a federal loan refund check which is the first time she was made aware that they had her marked as an enrolled student. She sent them notification of this error through multiple phone calls and emails and requested that they correct and update their records and also contacted my loan servicer to let them know of the fraud. 8 months later I am still finding out that they are still reporting her as an enrolled student through the National Student Clearinghouse which is making it impossible for her to transfer from my out of state school. I was assured by the COO that this would be corrected but still this has not been fixed.

I visited the campus 2 in two weeks excited to get HBCU gear to wear at home for a school I had not heard of. Unfortunately, there is only one worker. Both times, I arrived around 11am and the store was closed. I called the number on the door and its a lady's voicemail. I left messages, but received no response. I even called the school and the young man advised the bookstore was open. The hours only cater to students on campus not tourist. Good luck if you go.

I received my FA after going back and forth for nine months. My 1098-t does not match my correct taxes filed; resulting in a possible audit which happened to my classmate, I will be escalating that somewhere else. I appreciate the opportunities in life attending HTU has offered me but my student loans retribution I am responsible for after graduation pay HT enough to give me a formal reply

The adult degree program is a joke . The recruiters never give you all the information . I did not find out every class requires a group project until after I started . The first class they made me take was an introduction to college class and I am a senior in college . That class cost me 1400 and the professor was constantly talking about history and not the course work . Also encouraging students to use Wikipedia as an academic resource amongst other things . The second class I took the students were all on their phones and their attitudes and behaviors despite most being over 30 were equivalent to middle schoolers . The professor Mr.Mosley did not teach the topic in the class health psychology he just talked about himself and his time in Colorado and he would go on tangents about his secretary he used to have . Mr. Mosley and the first teacher Trina both made fun of people with mental illness and called them crazy . I had to ask them both to be professional this is a college environment and people who are in the psychology field are hearing you dismiss mental health . This program does not teach you anything . So if you are going to be going for a masters degree you will be ill prepared in writing skills and general knowledge . I guess If you just want to spend 30,000 or more on a degree and be forced to work in groups with people that don't have work ethic or communication skills this is the place for you . I would not give this school or program one star but I think yelp makes you give at least one .
