⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Gloria!!!
I had the pleasure of staying at this Holiday Inn, and Gloria made the experience truly exceptional! I called to book a room at 4 am on a Saturday morning, and despite the likely inconvenience, Gloria didn’t skip a beat. It took just two rings and a brief, easy call with her to secure my room. When I arrived, her warm and welcoming demeanor made me feel valued. Gloria’s dedication to excellent service is evident, and she truly saved my night! I can’t thank her enough for her outstanding hospitality—she is a true asset to the Holiday Inn team and sets an industry standard for 5-star service.
Noteworthy details: My 5 stars was single handedly because of Gloria saving my night. Thank you again!

I checked in on 4/4/24. The first room my son & I walked into had no linen and was horrible. This was a junior suite that I paid an upgrade for. We went back downstairs. The guy told me that he would upgrade me better, which was not an upgrade.
We get to our second room. The beds were together and the area that I was going to work in was not separated like the first room - that is why I picked that first room. The room wasn't exactly clean - had an M & M on the floor and it was not from us. If you go to the bed closest to the window and look it is still probably there.
I wanted to get my upgrade difference back (was not asking for a free room). I went and asked to speak to the manager - I was told she was busy. An hour later I was told she was still busy - she would call me. The day has come & gone and I still have not received a phone call. In fact, I wasn't going to leave a review but take this up with the manager. Hopefully the manager will see this review and realize why I wanted to speak to her. I wasn't even mad - but was going to ask for that difference back.
Nick was friendly. I have stayed at a lot of IHG hotels and I will say they are better than this.

I stayed in room 201 and had a horrible stay. As soon as we arrived there was a very strong odor of mildew, musky, foul odor. I requested to be moved but was denied by the front desk manager because the where booked for the evening. The manager claimed that it was just the cleaning chemicals but I went to rooms 214 and 423 and they did not have any odors , they were pleasant . We had other friends traveling with us and I had access to their rooms upon check in. This hotel is out dated, old and repugnant. They did not even have an air freshener to use. I am now at the Hampton inn and what a difference! I emphatically DO NOT recommend this hotel !

Nice place for us to stay while traveling or visiting friends in Austin. Always clean, well-kept, and welcoming desk personnel. Also convenient to I-35 or access to south Austin area.
Rooms: Well-kept, clean and well stocked with necessities

They take no responsibility for guest security. 6 cars broken into and guns stolen, but they did not inform guests of ongoing vandalism problem and absent security guard service. The GM is indifferent and gives a "NOT RESPONSIBLE" sign priority over guest service. Some guests get to park in a lighted, secure, tow-away fire zone. All the rest are left to fend for themselves. I've stayed at HIE many times over the past 10 years. No more. If you want an "East Beruit" experience, Holiday Inn Express is where you'll find it. Shamefully and dangerously disappointed. Corporate is no more helpful than their franchise mob partners.

My truck was broken into here at my stay, the front desk would not help and apparently their cameras aren’t working. Do not come here unless you want your vehicles broken into!!!

Rooms could use upgrade but they weren't bad, and were clean. We didn't go to the pool. The room did smell like it was being smoked in along with the elevator. The breakfast was not good. We ended up getting breakfast elsewhere the rest of the time. It was a bit over priced in my opinion and could feel cleaner but as I said it is clean. Be careful in parking lot, lots of broken glass and debris. We parked under a light and across from the bank for cameras.

The manager at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Austin South is more concerned with taking your money than providing customer service or any loyalty to long-time IHG Club Members. My wife and I booked a room via the hotel's website for the night of May 26th, so we could see a concert at a nearby concert venue. On the morning of the 24th, we learned the concert was canceled due to an illness in the band, so I immediately canceled our reservation (48+ hours prior to check-in time) to free up the room. A few days later, I saw that I was still billed for the room. Upon reaching out to the management at the hotel, they told me they would not refund the charge as I had used a "book early and save" rate, that had a "non-refundable deposit." That "deposit," by the way, was equal to the entire charge for the room. NO WHERE in my reservation confirmation did it state these conditions. As a frequent traveler, I am NOT in the habit of booking non-refundable discount airfares, room rates, etc., as I know that plans can change. I did not recall any such stipulations when I booked the room online. The hotel management and IHG's customer service team pointed out the "fine print" that was allegedly displayed when I booked the room online. If it was there, it certainly was not boldly stated (if at all). The hotel probably earned the rate for the room twice that night, as they took my money, and was still able to provide that room to another customer. At best, I made an honest mistake booking a room at that rate. At worst, IHG/Holiday Inn Express has a deceptive online reservations system. I've stayed at IHG hotels dozens or times over the past few years on personal and Government business; they were my "go to" chain for hotels. IHG deferred to the hotel’s management in this case, and he/she would NOT refund my money. IHG/Holiday Inn Express has lost me as a customer, as well as potentially thousands of dollars of my future business. But hey ... the manager did get my $154.44. Was that worth losing thousands of dollars of my future business?
