Tyler’s one of the best gunsmiths in town. Seriously! Every question I’ve asked no matter how technical, Tylers had an answer, a detailed one at that. He’s helped me custom fit an odd face mount brake to an AK, been super fast with the nearly 10 transfers I’ve used his shop for, bringing in an AR for a pin and weld and a shotgun to be threaded for chokes next week. Great shop, great guy. If you want to check out the AK build Tyler helped me with, check it out on my Instagram @petemachining

Guy is NOT knowledgeable about firearm laws and has WAY more attitude than ability. Came for a pin/weld on a 14.5 to 16" barrel and suppressor mount. Total length was just over 16." HE REFUSED to do it because he did not want to get "shut down by ATF." Moronic thing for a gunsmith to believe since he was working ONLY on an UPPER! HE HAS NO IDEA IF IT WOULD BE USED AS RIFLE OR A PISTOL! It is perfectly legal to have ANY length barrel for a pistol. Plus, there are spacers from JT or Precision Armaments SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to slightly extend barrel lengths for Pin/Weld muzzle devices while keeping perfect alignment for suppressor mounts. ANY of these factors show him to be incompetent. I should have known better than to go to a "gunsmith" in leftist Austin. Avoid this place!

I took my Kimber Pro Carry II 1911 to get an ambidextrous safety and the service was excellent.

Have transferred multiple firearms through Tyler. He has also performed gunsmithing on numerous firearms for me. Excellent quality always. A true professional. 10 stars.

Fast and great service. I picked up an FFL item and also brought a slide with a stripped screw, which they extracted for me at no extra cost. Definitely recommended!

I recently ruined the finish on my R700 bolt from my favorite hunting rifle. I took it to Liberty and within 2 weeks he was able to restore my bolt from a hideous unfinished mess to a beautiful jeweled masterpiece even better than when it was brand new! Would highly recommend for a quality job at a very fair price.

We always try to go local and help small businesses but went in the other day just to get a quote on switching out a handguard on our AR-15 Diamondback... guy wasn't at all interested so quoted $9600! Ridiculous. Went somewhere else and got the job done.

Did a great job tuning up my Glock. Fast turnaround time, and very knowledgeable. Will come back again for future needs.

Went in to see why my firing pin on my 1911 wasn't hitting hard enough. They looked at it and described what was wrong and told me it was an easy fix and I could do it my self if I wanted. That honest information made me decide this was a professional business and trust worthy. They got my business.

I purchased an M1 carbine about a year ago that was mechanically in good shape, a decent little shooter. The finish showed years of wear and after being in a war or two it needed some help. I decided to have it reparkerized . The guys at Liberty Gunsmithing did an amazing job. It took a little bit longer than expected but the results were A+ We had an issue with some small parts but the owner did an outstanding job explaining the process to me. I highly recommend their services and will use them again in the near future.

Saw the reviews and decided to check this place out. Spoke with Tyler who looked at some guns I had been handed down. Really knowledgeable and helpful in looking at my firearms and letting me know what my next steps will be. Didn't purchase any services but the customer service was great and I will definitely be back to get work done.

Fast work and reasonable prices. I had them install a couple suppressor mounts. It got done right and on time. He used a lathe and gauges to ensure concentricity, which is superior to using only a bore rod. There are so few options for this sort of work, it's great that this place exists in Austin.
