First state bank got bought out by BancorpSouth it's OK now. Most of the original people are still there. But it's more like a big bank now.

When is the last time a bank president called you? Let me start by saying, the entire staff at First State Bank of Central Texas has met and EXCEEDED our expectations. Many companies like to plaster that phrase on their marketing materials, but this bank actually delivers on that sentiment. They want to build relationships with the customers in that "old-fashioned" kind of way. Everyone I came in contact with from Cheryl who opened my bank account, to the teller that had to look up my new account number because I couldn't find my paperwork two days later, to the SVP who processed and expedited a mortgage (along with his fabulous team) to a bank president who called at the end of the first day we had visited the bank to make sure we were happy with their service - and then he attended the mortgage closing to help out the SVP that was on a holiday vacation. They are gracious, helpful, efficient and best of all - our new bank. p.s. I wish I could add more stars!
