I've been training here for 5+ years now, and it has truly changed my life. On day one, I told Bert all my injuries, thinking that we would avoid those areas; on the contrary, he took notes, making a checklist of all the damage to repair!I used to have the kind of chronic pain, where I routinely saw orthopedists, physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists. I had the kind of back pain where I needed steroid injections in my spine 2-3 times a year, just to function. None of that anymore! and it's 95% thanks to Bert (the other 5% is the Neufit he uses to re-train the muscles how to move). Not only am I no longer in any chronic pain, but I'm less injury prone (I might spill from my bike or slip on ice, but my body handles impacts way better than it did before), and when I DO get injuries, they heal faster.Bert has easily added another 10 or 15 years to my life, and dramatically improved my strength, flexibility, fitness, and overall quality of life. His protégé Chris is equally knowledgeable and skilled, too. If you want your life to be better in every way, these dudes are a fast track to better health and more happiness.

Had a car accident 5 years ago and was recommended to Bert & Co for help with my lower back. Through showing up and working with Grounded strength, i’ve re-solidified my core and walk around in no pain. Can’t recommend them more if I tried, life changer.

I booked a consult with one of the trainers. I had especially picked that trainer due to a recommendation. I arrived for the session and that trainer was not there, they had done a bait and switch with some other trainer. No courtesy to call and let me know in advance, and no apologies. I opted out of the bait and switch. I was assured I would get a call back from the original trainer to reschedule. They never bothered to contact me. Waste of time, good luck trying to organize anything with them

This is a long overdue review for Bert and the crew at Adapt Fitness (formerly Efficient Exercise). Bert is a true student of the mechanics of the human body and exercise at large. Without ego he creates a truly personalized program and is constantly evolving as he adapts the latest in technology and understanding to allow you to get the most out of your body. Whether you are looking to improve your mobility, recover from injury, eliminate nagging pain, or just wanting to take your fitness to the next level Bert is your man. I know because at some point over the past several years I have seen him for all those things and he always delivers.

I've been training with Bert at Adapt for about 6 months now and what a difference it has made! I came in with a several nagging injuries from other activities and mobility and strength imbalances. I was looking for a personalized training experience and someone who understands movement and the body rather than homogenized one-size-fits-all classes. Bert took the time to really understand my situation and developed a program addressing the foundational issues without unnecessary (and often counter-productive) cardio and other nonsense. 6 months later, I'm feeling and performing better with most of the original issues either resolving themselves or moving into the background. I can't recommend Bert and Adapt Fitness enough to those looking for a different kind of strength & conditioning experience.

I've been working with Bert for about two months and it's been great. When I started, I had a foot/shoulder injury and he helped me stretch and rehab it and now the pain is completely gone.

I'm 40 (going on 20 in my mind) so I am known to push myself into injury from time to time. After a herniated disc had me in pain every day for 10 months straight I finally took 6+ weeks off. I started working with Bert before heading back to Orangetheory and my back has held up since! He's great at helping me ADAPT to my (frequent and almost constant) injuries and pain to keep me going with what I LOVE to do and can't live without! Thanks Bert! (Definitely go see him if you are old and broken)

Cole was excellent! Best half hour session I've ever had. He successfully kicked my butt and not only explained how to perform the exercises, but also why we were performing them and the science behind all of their equipment. Can't recommend him enough.

I cannot speak highly enough of the trainers (I'm talking to you, Bert & Shane!) at Efficient Exercise. I have been a client for several years - either once or twice a week - and it has been nothing but a positive driving force in my life. It has given me confidence in my movements, in my body's abilities, and has made such an impact in my daily life. The 30 minutes I spend there twice a week boosts my brain, my body and my attitude! I would recommend this modality to ANYONE! They can work with any body in any stage of their fitness. The one hour a week gives me SO MUCH POWER! Thank you to EE and all that you do for me!

My husband and I have been training weekly with Shane for the past year. As a woman in my 60s, I feel healthier than I did 10 years ago! My muscle mass, flexibility, and energy level have improved tremendously. I highly recommend Efficient Exercise for everyone - whatever your age or fitness level!

I needed a weekly program to increase and maintain muscle mass that was in line with "Body by Science" exercises. The ARX machines have enabled me and to strengthen all my important muscle groups in only 30 minutes a week with no risk of injury. I have been training there for over a year, and have signed up for another.

I have been with Shane for approximately six months, twice a week, and he is an amazing well-qualified trainer! Shane is extremely passionate about fitness and health and always very attentive and responsive to my individual goals. Every workout is unique and challenging especially sessions that include the ARX machines. I have seen positive changes with my body in both physical strength and appearance!

I've done a total of 5 sessions with noticeable improvement to my posture and strength. I have worked with Shane who is clearly very knowledgeable and cares about doing things correctly with the best form possible, rather than just doing things. It's all about building a balanced body, rather than just a beefed up body, so that you can get stronger while avoiding injury. I was hit by a car as a pedestrian, and working with Shane has been as effective or more so than physical therapy for getting my body back into a healthy state. My physical therapist has been amazed by the descriptions I've given to him about Efficient Exercise and specifically Shane, and amazed at the improvement I've made in just a few weeks. I have regained mobility in my shoulder, flexibility, experience less pain. OH AND I HAD A PINCHED NERVE AND ITS UNPINCHED NOW!!!! I can't recommend this place or Shane enough. Plus it's right in the seaholm parking garage (right next to the entrance where you get your parking ticket), so it's easy to park and get in and out in less than an hour.
