Just checked into a building site. Carrying luggage is no less than dangerous and dirty. Dust everywhere. Ladders blocking the lifts and extremely difficult to unload your car ($51 per day). Needless to say we are not impressed and wouldn’t have booked if we knew that there would be 20 builders meeting us at the door. We had heavy suitcases which made actually getting as far as the lift difficult as there are ramps for building breaks in the floor and 3 ladders on top of the doors to the lift. Very unsafe.

The bar restaurant manager helped make our anniversary special. The view from the penthouse suite was amazing. The rooms need updating but there was plenty of space in the room. Kitchen was tight but usable.Rooms: Need updatingNearby activities: 1 block from Texas CapitolWalkability: Easy sightseeing by foot from HotelFood & drinks: Breakfast was underwhelming for the cost.

Terrible terrible hotel experience! They shut the entire boiler to the whole hotel without telling anyone!!! So get all the way up to my room, unpack from a long day and not only is there cold water but the sinks and shower won’t drain!! NEVER EVER WILL I STAY HERE

Nothing against the staff there. But this place is under major renovations, and they don't really tell you this on the website. No restaurant available (that they do say), but the ensuite food service is a joke. Breakfast was delivered in a brown paper bag, with pop top plastic containers, and the flimsiest plastic forks, knife and spoon plus miniscule paper napkin in a little plastic baggie. I almost broke the spoon trying to mix the granola into my yogurt. Major jackhammer work at the front door, which won't be done until mid-March? And they state on the handout they give you that renovations will be completed by the 'holidays'. They act like they are going to give you free Internet access, but the voucher code doesn't work. I can get better service, free Internet and free, warm breakfast (with real utensils) at a Best Western for $100 less a night. This is a real black eye one the Doubletree brand.

I work for a Legal Office and we utilize this particular DoubleTree Location all the time for work due to it's perfect location. The rooms have always sufficed and the service is top notch. However, we experienced extraordinary care from the staff this last visit. We did lose some extremely expensive hardware during our stay and the staff not only located it, put it up safely confirmed all contents and worked to have it shipped to us immediately. Yeny Chaney, the Housekeeping Manager deserves a raise, she was attentive, patient and so helpful, she truly went the extra mile. Thank you for another wonderful stay.

I really enjoyed the deliciously luxurious beds. They were splendid to sleep in. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and nice toiletries. Currently, they are renovating everything to make it even better. I loved the kitchen with a nice fridge, microwave, and cutlery. I don't watch television, but I do wish they would have had apps like YouTube available on their oversized Samsung televisions. I'd return to Hilton Austin in a heartbeat.
