DISCRIMINATION TOWARD CUSTOMERS (AT LEAST ONE ANYWAY) BY A CVS STORE MANAGEROn November 18th at around 5:50pm I entered this store to be "greeted" just inside the entrance by the manager on duty and told that I must surrender my sling (backpack, man purse, whatever) to him in order to gain entry to the store. He identified himself to me as "Matthew", although Neal Simon (the "district leader") informed me that there is no one named Matthew at that store.(According to Mr. Simon, the manager on duty that evening was the store's general manager, Edwin Barba.)When I asked "Matthew" why I needed to leave my valuables in his care he said "this is a rough neighborhood". I tried to refuse and he kind of moved into my path, so in order to placate him and try to get some shopping done I did as he directed and left my bag with all my valuables on the floor in a public area inside the store for him to "watch". I started to shop and was just so nervous about my stuff laying on the floor under this stranger's care that I only grabbed a couple of items and hastily went to check out."Matthew" "helped" me to check out at self-serve, obviously making sure I wouldn't "forget" to ring something up. Not very subtle, "Matthew"...CVS had Neal Simon contact me about the incident, which he finally did on November 30th, about a week and a half after I reported it to them. He assured me that he would follow up with me in a couple of days, which he didn't. Finally, today (December 8th) I called him to follow up. He said something to the effect of "surveillance video doesn't show the incident" and that Mr. Barba did not recall the incident. I offered to meet him and Mr. Barba, mainly to see if Barba was indeed the manager on duty who identified himself as Matthew. He said he'd check on it and call me back. Eventually, after re-filing the complaint with CVS and trying desperately (to no avail) to get someone at CVS to contact Amanda Reed (CVS regional director) on my behalf and have her call me ASAP, I called Mr. Simon back, only to get his voicemail. I left him a message to have Ms. Reed call me immediately, and of course that hasn't happened.Mr. Simon also made mention of a meeting on October 19th of this year that was attended by Mr. Barba during which the practice of seizing customers' belongings was clearly condemned, i.e., Mr. Barba (or "Matthew") knew that he was violating his company's policy.Any way you slice it, it comes up RACISM, and CVS is currently either unable or unwilling to put a stop to it and work with me toward a resolution.THE FOLLOWING IS MY HYPOTHESIS, NOT FACT:As far as I can piece together, CVS's district leader and regional director in the Austin area seem to have "picked a side", standing behind the actions of a store manager who perpetrated an act of racial discrimination against me, gave me a false name, and quite possibly may have doctored up the store's surveillance system to cover it up.Customers be warned, the management of this store practices racial discrimination, possibly in direct opposition to CVS policy (but who knows?) and definitely in direct opposition to the rules of society. If I get anywhere with CVS Health Inc. regarding this egregious incident I will amend this review or remove it. As long as I am left without any resolution this review will stand as is.

Love the non-pharmacy staff, but the pharmacy is utter trash. Somewhere in the CVS system they keep sending my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy and when I try to fix this with them they insist it's the fault of my doctor. My doctor ONLY has THIS CVS on file, I in fact called them to confirm this, so the pharmacist just keeps saying my doctor's office is lying. Then she told me they couldn't transfer my scripts over yet because they were still "in process" despite CVS sending me a text telling me they were all ready YESTERDAY. So I think I know who's lying here, and it isn't my doctor's office.CVS, please fix your system, and hire people who aren't trash. In the meantime, I will be transferring all my scripts over to Walgreens.

You just have to go to the CVS on Briarcliff Boulevard to meet Valerie, a woman with an incredible and amazing attitude!! She made my experience so wonderful!! The store is so lucky to have her.?

I went to cvs which is the one I mostly use for prescriptions cause I believe the store has gotten a bit more expensive than Walgreens. This one is conveniently 2 blocks from my house. I purposely wanted to be at the store because my son's doctor knew it would cut it close to closing time. She said she'd rush it over as soon as the results came in. Well at 20:55 the results came in and I was at the counter ready to ask. I told the pharmacist my child's doctor was rushing the prescription over and his first reaction was "we close in 4 minutes". I know that. That's why I'm here. He said "it takes a couple minutes to transfer over. You can have them send it to Walgreens. They are open till 21:00." They do not take my insurance. What time do yall open? 08:00. Everyone in my house has a bug but I have to get up at 08:00 to get my child's antibiotics. He could not wait a couple minutes for an antibiotic that is literally a bottle, fill with water, and shake. Instead he wanted, and was, walking out the store at 21:00.What happened to people going above and beyond? Walking out at 21:05-21:10 will kill a pharmacist.

Loss prevention stopped me as I walked out after using self checkout even though I had paid for everything. Really bad customer service.

By far the worst pharmacy I’ve ever had to use. The people here act like they do not care about the customers well belling. Every time I come in there is an issue. Today my issues is that I’ve been withdrawing from my meds because of their mistakes. Withdrawals from my meds can cause brain damage and seizures. My meds weren’t filled because they kept calling the wrong doctor. I told them this and that I was having withdrawals and the woman sounded so mean and like I was wasting her time. When I contacted my doctor they informed me that they had no been contacted and they approved my prescription for 90 days but the pharmacy keeps filling it for 30 days. I’ve you’re looking for a pharmacy that actually cares about their customers and know how to do their job, this place isn’t it.

Have you ever had a pharmacist disappear behind their computer screen rather than speak with you about the medication you're trying to obtain? I have, at this pharmacy. Sarah is the name of the employee who treated me like I wasn't even a human being. It left a bad feeling with me. I wish I had another pharmacy close to my house. Maybe I should just switch to H‑E‑B?

I’ve ordered for pickup from this location twice. First time it took 24 hours and they cancelled my order bc they couldn’t find it in stock. Second time it took about 5 hours (even though it says ready in 1 hour) and when I went to pick it up the workers looked at me like they had never had anyone pickup an order before.Im sure the workers at this location are trying their best but it doesn’t meet the standards of other CVS stores. Not friendly or helpful.

This location always has long waits for prescriptions, the prescription storage seems messy and disorganized, store is not very tidy, always a long wait at the checkout line. Made an appointment for a vaccine online several days ago, showed up this morning and was told their refrigerator was not working and they could not administer the vaccine. I am assuming there is a computer which shows scheduled appointments for the day, and has the person's contact information. A phone call, text, or email to save a trip and not waste customers time would have been nice. I understand 'stuff happens' and machinery can break down, but you should be proactive and try to avoid unnecessary hassle by letting people know that their appointment needs to be cancelled before they waste their resources trying to get to the appointment.

This store is a mess. So dirty and poorly maintained. At least on one occasion they closed early by at least 30 mins - with no posted emergency.

Ostensibly the name "CVS" stands for Customer, Value, Service." It appears it's easier to come up with a somewhat catchy acronym name than it is to deliver on the promise. I'm a senior with back pain so running around to various stores isn't my idea of fun these days. CVS did their best to make it a miserable experience. Two experiences at two different CVS locations in Austin, TX in the past week have convinced me to NEVER go to another CVS again: 1) CVS in Windsor Park on Briarcliff: I scheduled a Shingles vaccine online and showed up at my scheduled time, (confirmed by automated text the day prior), only to be told by the pharmacy clerk that their refrigerator had broken a couple of days prior and none of their vaccines were any good. I asked why they hadn't called or texted me to cancel the appointment since they have all of my info. Instead of an apology, she simply said rudely, "We're too busy." OK. Got it. Zero other customers in the store. Hmmm. 2) Leaving there, I located another CVS 2.2 miles away on Airport Blvd and drove right over there. From the parking lot, I called their pharmacy counter and asked if they had the Shingles vaccine in stock. She replied yes, so I asked if I could come in and get the shot since I was right outside. She said no, that I'd need to book an appointment online. Really? I don't think so. I then called my local H‑E‑B market, who told me they give those vaccines and no appointment was needed. Drove there and was in and out in 15 minutes! Bye bye CVS. Will be going to H‑E‑B for all in the future. I suggest to CVS that they either change their name or change their attitude. It's not working for them.

This is possibly the worst cvs on the planet. The pharmacy doesn't even answer the phone. They can't dispense refrigerated medications since their fridge has been "broken" for over a month.

Despite being severely understaffed, Pharmacists Sarah and Orlando provide wonderful, calm and kind service with what I usually see is only one assistant at a time. I found phone response to have very long wait times, and once I went in, could understand why. What a shame they can't seem to find enough assistants to work!
