Really bad experience at this tire center. One of the employees blatantly lied to my face.

Costco Tire center is terrible. Been a 15+ year customer and ending up canceling membership due to bad experiences lately including at the tire center.
The longer I have been a Costco customer the more I end up hating their tire center. Super slow, long waits, terrible scheduling process, poor customer service, they act like they are doing you a favor, Deny warranty claims giving random reasons.
Most recent experience, they denied tire mileage warranty claim saying tires were over inflated and had middle wear, when I pushed back, they gave a different reason, and showed fine print from two rotations ago about technician's guess of irregular, which was never informed not during that visit but the subsequent next two rotations.
In a prior instance, had to jump hoops and be persistent to get tire hazard warranty, if not they just brushed off warranty and demanded I pay full price.
Update: escalated on this issue and spent an hour talking to staff and manager, a lot of back and forth on exclusion reasons, which reinforces my review above. They find every reason not to approve warranty and they responsibility on the customer to prove every exclusion, alignment proof that every year, proof that tires were not over inflated (inflation was done at costco ~ 3 months, not sure how one proves that). and further lecture the customer on reading the fine print, which goes against the customer service philosophy of Costco .
For them, the wear on the tire was due to both alignment and over inflation which covers majority of the tire and they don't measure outer part of the tire. So blame customer and the car but not the tire that has run down in half its warranty mileage.
End of the day, Costco lost a long standing member and tire customer due to their poor service.

I love Costco, and have been a customer for many years, however I strongly recommend anyone against using the tire center after my last experience. When going to replace the tires that Costco had installed on my Tacoma 7 years ago (no complaints back then!), the technicians broke a lug off one of my wheels, and had me tow it to another shop to have it fixed. Then, several days later after I had done all the leg work to get their mistake fixed, they told me they did not have the proper extended lug nuts for my wheels (because they had stripped one when they broke the lug initially, and don’t carry them in their shop. Why not tell me then? Or order them to have them in stock when I brought the truck back? ) and sent me to several stores to buy them for them before I was able to find the right set. All in all, they took very little ownership of their work, and wasted over ten hours of my time.

I had a small punch on my car’s tire because it lasted 3 to 4 days before the sensor notified me and I made an appointment at this Costco, after leaving my car after several hours they call me to see if I wanted to change the tire, according to them it had 3 nails, I told them that I had checked my tire that only brought a single punch and according to them they had solved it. They removed the sensor so that I wouldn’t notice that they didn’t do anything and they also punctured my tire, of course, when I left there a few minutes later I didn’t have air in the tire. I don’t recommend anyone I took their car to this place

If they treat an Executive member this bad, I can only imagine how the other members that left negative reviews were treated. This is the worst Costco Tire Center I have visited in my 15+ years of being a member. Incredibly rude customer service from the Costco tire center.
One time, I was already waiting in line with my daughter to return a car battery, but had a quick question to ask on whether I should return the battery at the Tire Center or at the Customer Service Returns desk. I left my daughter and the battery where we were waiting in line to go ask my question. Sam, at the tire center desk, was very irritable seeing me approach him. He completely ignored my presence and then when I politely drew his attention he rudely said there is a line. I told him I’m already waiting in line but had a quick question so I could decide if it made sense to continue waiting in line or leave. He was able to quickly answer my simple question; however this could have been done without the unnecessary rude attitude. Thankfully Sams Club carries a well known brand and installs it as well, unlike Costco’s generic car batteries with no installation service.
Recently, I had another very unpleasant experience. This was with Josh. I was a flat tire walk-in. My vehicle does not have a spare, so I didn’t mind waiting 2-4 hours for the tire repair and rotation service. I came in at 1pm and at 5pm, after so many hours waiting, I asked for an update. There was another person at the desk (Josie) and when I told her I had been waiting since 1pm, she seemed genuinely shocked and taken aback. Josie told me that she did not understand why they did not use one of the available appointments to work on my car sooner. I think she felt bad I was waiting for so long so she checked for an available appointment and found one for me immediately for the same day. This would have been helpful if Josh would have suggested and made that appointment right from the start, especially if they had them available. But then again, now even with the confirmed appointment time that Costco texted me, my vehicle was not worked on. Surprisingly, even after an hour passed after the confirmed appointment it was still not worked on. Overall, I ended up waiting 7 hours. I had to return the milk I had purchased because it was sitting out of the cooler for so long. When they finally serviced my vehicle around closing time 08.07pm, I was not even called to be informed that it was completed. Costco needs to fire or retrain the tire center management and hire associates with proper work ethics. What is the point of buying tires at Costco with warranty if they treat you like an afterthought when you need it most?

1st, yes I am a member.
I called about having a set of tires dismounted from the wheels they are on (loose in the back of my truck), so I could replace them with new tires that I would buy through them. The gentlemen on the phone said he wasn't sure if they could do that, and if so he thought only if the tires were purchased through them.
The thing is, I've had this done before. So I asked him to check as he sounded uncertain. He put me on hold and spoke with his manager, and confirmed they could do it along with the price.
I drove over, and was then told in fact no, they would not help me.
A policy is a policy and that's fine, but get it right and don't waste a customer's time please
But just to get this straight.... if you're replacing tires that came with the car, they won't service you?

Purchased the Firestone-Firehawk tires, once I got home I noticed that my car had a side play if pushed, as if the tires were made of marshmallows. The next day I stopped by Costco to see if it’s normal such wobble, they say it was normal (which I disagreed). Then we decided to try new tires, I wanted to go back to Michelin since previously I used them, nope, I was stuck with Firestone or Bridgestone tires now only, or I had to purchase whole new set of tires without any refund. Sale guy told me I’d just have to pay the difference in tires in case I wanted to go with higher end tire. We chose Turanza Everdrive tires, $38 more per tire. They started the work 1:15hr after my scheduled appointment. Then once the new set was installed they wanted to charge me the disposal of the new tires and eliminated the $60 promotion (not sure if there were other charges). The total they wanted $237 (I believe?) when it should’ve been $164 including taxes (that on a brand I didn’t want to go with as my first option after seeing how the first tires performed). In the end I ended up paying $177 after much back and forth at the sales desk.
After a short drive I’d say the new tires are ok, nothing impressive, also has a bit of wobble (not as bad as the Firehawk).
I have 3 other cars that I will definitely not bring them to Costco for tire service. Very disappointed and bad experience.

Bad service. Poor knowledge. Long wait. Why do I even have a membership here?

3 hours to change the tires of my truck. Yes, I did have an appointment. I should have stayed with Discount Tire.

No matter how much you love Costco, STAY AWAY! Save yourself time and poor installation and just price match another national brand installer. I was there over 3 hours with an appointment and the balance was off from the start. If this is how Costco manages services, they should stay out of the game.

This place is ran by clowns. Do not bring your car here. I purchased my tires from them and needed a repair (ran over a nail). I brought it in and they took my keys then I waited several hours for them to tell me they couldn’t repair the tire and they couldn’t replace it since it wasn’t in stock. Any half way competent tire shop would have been able to tell me in 15 min that the tire couldn’t be repaired. It’s completely unacceptable to make someone wait hours before making this determination.

We used to come here all the time to get our tires replaced. We’d call, make an appointment, and they’d just come in and do it for us.
Now they have apparently moved to some new process where I have to buy the tires online and then call and make the appointment, or I have to come in person and buy the tires and then make the appointment to come back later, in person, to buy the tires, which is a real hassle.
I don’t want to buy tires online. I don’t want to be the tire expert and take the risk of buying the wrong tires for my car. That is why I call Costco to take care of that for me. But now they don’t do that anymore, apparently.

The tire tech stripped the stud on my wheel, then refused to own up to it. The Manager then proceeded to blame the car, and later me for not maintaining it. This was the car’s first tire change since new, so I am appalled that they blamed me for not maintaining the vehicle. They had me fill out a tedious incident form, and had me come back in. The manager proceeded to waste an hour of my time, before telling me they lost the form, and they still have not covered the damage 3 weeks later. I’m upset with this service, and after 20 years of coming to Costco will never recommend having tires changed at this location.

They did a good job with my four runner. They had the OEM tires in stock, but I wanted something better. They custom ordered it for me. Just make sure to bring your wheel locks or you'll be coming back twice.

Vehicles pulled in after my vehicle been service when I had an appointment at 4pm and the guy said it will take 1.5 hours. What in the world do I have to make an appointment for?
