There's probably no easy way to tell someone they have a giant bunion, but Dr. Walters did so with compassion and (appropriate) humor. He followed up with a thorough examination and demonstration of the problem then detailed treatment options. All in my first consult with him. I went the surgical route to resolve my foot issue and I credit my straightforward recovery to Dr. Walter's conservative approach to surgery, pain management and the recovery process. Sure, I did my part and followed his pre- and post-op recommendations and with Dr. Walters I felt I had a collaborative, caring and available partner throughout the whole process. Special thanks to Marie whose knowledge and patience helped me be a very satisfied patient.

I've had problems with the bottom of my feet for a little over 5 years now(IPK). After seeing a handful of podiatrist with no results, I wanted to give up and live with the pain. That was until I discovered Dr Steven A Walters with Capital Foot & Ankle. After seeing him for about 2 months, I felt like I had a brand new pair of feet. The staff is so friendly, they actually care about my progress. I would highly recommend Dr.Steven A Walters he is the best Podiatrist in Texas.

Tldr: Kind and knowledgeable doctor and nurse technician. Rude front desk person. Terrible website and patient portal, but very nice office that is easy to get to. Parking and how to find their office: It was hard to figure out from their website and also the person who answered the phone was condescending about it. Open maps app, it's easier to type in the Medical Arts Square which is at 2911 Medical Arts St, Austin, TX 78705. Typing in the office location (the previous plus suite number) shows the front of the office as Dean Keaton st, which is wrong. You'll enter a large parking lot, turn right and go all the way down to get to Capital Foot & Ankle. I was hesitant about going here because their website wasn't great and their patient portal was the worst I've ever seen. Plus whoever I spoke to on the phone was rude both times, I'm sure it doesn't help that they probably have to tell people so much info that should be found on the website (but isnt). The doctor was kind and knowledgeable, and took the time to address every question while still being respectful of time. He showed me the xrays and said my issue should be a relatively quick fix. He recommended an orthodic insert, new running shoes for stability, and physical therapy, 2 times a week for 4 weeks then we'll have a follow-up appointment.

I have been to a lot of other podiatrists in the last two years with no solid results. Dr Mereau and her staff are very knowledgeable and meticulous in their treatment approach. Dr Merau is honest, listens carefully, and communicate very effectively about your options. Her approach is very systematic and the only one so far that had my condition improving. Check in is smooth and fast. Her assistant Michelle is also friendly. Great experience overall

Dr. Mereau and her staff made me feel so comfortable and heard while in care. I had a trauma to my foot on a trip that put me in a lot of pain and anxiety. She had to do a minor surgery to remove the nail and I was definitely nervous! From start to finish, her and her team made this scary process so much easier. From the woman at the front desk (Gabby I believe) always promptly calling me back to answer my questions and the two medical assistants that were kind and warm from the beginning. Dr. Mereau herself was very patient with me and also checked in multiple times during the procedure. It is so refreshing to come across such professional and caring staff! Thank you for everything.

If you're looking for a knowledgeable and caring doctors, no need to look any further. Dr. Mereau and her staff were most excellent in handling my ganglion cyst. They're very thorough in the walk through of treatments and take the time to sit with you and answer any questions you might have. In a time and space when a lot of doctors treat their patients like cattle, this is the exception. Keep up the good work Capital Foot & Ankle!

Everyone working there was perfectly pleasant to me and I felt the quality of care I received was adequate. However they took unnecessary xrays (that weren't even looked at during my visits) in order to charge insurance more, and also charged my insurance $500 for a walking boot that was $80 online.

Where do I start? This place has been nothing short of amazing. From the first day I initially went for big toe pains (which I found out was a bunion) through the surgery process to the post surgery follow up. Dr. Walters and his staff are very attentive to the patient's needs and they LISTEN! I don't know how many times I have called Rose to ask her a random question before surgery and she always was available and answered my questions with ease (although I know I probably got on her nerves. LOL). But I would this place to anyone. Hopefully I never have to see them again after I am fully recovered. But just in case the Lord sees differently and I have any future foot issues I know where I will be going. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.

I would recommend this practice to anyone searching for knowledgeable and professional podiatrists! In addition to the physicians being incredible, the staff is very kind and well-educated as well. As I was nervous to undergo an ingrown toenail procedure, Dr Walters walked me through the steps and made sure I was comfortable. I did not feel any pain thanks to the expertise of my physician. After my appointment, the kind assistant made sure I understood how to care for my toe to avoid infection. Look no further than this practice with Dr Mereau and Dr Walters if you are looking for kind doctors and excellent care.

Dr. Mereau is the best! She has now, successfully and with out any complications, done surgery on both my feet. Everything she said about my recovery was spot on and she had me up on my feet walking, exercising, running AND being able to wear any shoe with out pain! She is an amazing surgeon, her staff are friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend her to others.
