I reserved my truck days in advance. I got a call roughly 24 hours before time to pick up that they don’t have any rental trucks. Awful service & no consideration!

Never again! And if you're thinkin about it...DON'T! I reserved the truck the day before and paid online. I entered all my info and drivers license so things would go smoothly. I am on my way there and realize I have an email from them which was timestamped at 6am that morning stating that if my insurance didn't cover I would have to go with their plan. I'm thinking. Maybe 20 dollars or so. Nope, it doubled the price of what I was paying for the actual truck rental!! I told the lady I was unaware of this when I booked if since I hadn't seen it till they sent the email at 6am and she smuggly tells me they aren't even open at 6am! She didn't care for me to show her the timeatamp on the email either. Not to mention before the insurance discussion, they forgot to mention that they were out of the 12ft trucks that I had reserved so I would need to take a 16 footer. I should have known something wasn't right with this place because driving up I was already turned off by the grafiette written on the trucks and the condition of them. They were very unclean and looked raggedy. Needless to say I walked right out of there and rented a truck from Penske which not only was half the price, they had the actual truck I requested in the first place and the truck had hardly any miles, was spotless, and clean!

Reserved a 26 foot truck, was given 16. No call ahead, no email, these guys couldn’t care less. Truck was a joke, so bad after driving it across the country Budget took it out of service. Do better, simple.

Total ripoff! I made a reservation online for a 16-foot truck for this past Saturday, 4/10. The quote I received for the price was $54.36. I saw no information at that time of any additional expenses that I would be required to pay. However, when I got to the store it was a completely different story. All of a sudden I had to provide several different details about my insurance policy, and I was told that if I couldn't verify that I was covered that I would have to purchase insurance that cost MORE THAN THE TRUCK RENTAL ITSELF! Totally predatory practice! Here I was on the day of my rental and I was stuck. It's not like I could get a truck elsewhere at that point. My total for the rental came to $145! That's nearly 3X the quoted price. Totally unacceptable.

The absolute WORST customer service. If I could do a 0, I would. I booked my truck online, I went with budget because they did a First Responders Discount. I booked it at 10:40am to pick up at 2:30pm. At 1:45, as I was on my way, I received a call from a lady who said they didn't have the size truck I ordered. I asked if anywhere near them had one, she put me on hold. 10 mins later, she still had not switched back to give me an answer, and because I was so close I went by anyways. As I walked in, she was on a PERSONAL phone call...while I was still on hold waiting for her answer. She got up, and a male worker started to help me. I asked why they didn't call me sooner to inform me they didn't have the size truck I ordered, his response, "we were busy outside." I agreed to get the next biggest size truck. He asked if I wanted the insurance, which I declined, he handed me a paper and said this needs to be filed out. I asked if he would explain it to me. His response "call your insurance company they'll give you the answers. I'm gonna be outside getting your truck ready." At this point, I grabbed my ID from the counter and told them I would no longer be renting a truck from them. RUDE RUDE RUDE RUDE.

I wish I could give budget 0 stars. They put me in truck that broke down, then when I called the help line they told me to keep driving the truck until it breaks down completely for them to send a mechanic out. I drive it a couple more hours, call back, and then I was told that a mechanic could not work on the truck until the next buisness day. I was not offered a replacement truck because they did not have another truck available unless I wanted one much much smaller than the one I originally rented. They also REFUSED to refund me the money so I could go to another rental agency. So far I am out $1200
