Excellent focus from all staff on my dog and her needs. She is a rescue who is afraid of new people. Their voices were soft and their touch gentle, which helped her a lot. I am grateful for their kind and professional attention to her. I highly recommend Bluebonnet Animal Hospital.

The nicest people work here!! They're easy to get ahold of, very responsive, always helpful, and the vets are super knowledgable. It's always quick to get in if I need a last minute appointment. Everyone here truly cares about the pets coming in and tries to make it as pleasant of an experience for the animals as they can. They're very transparent about pricing and always let you know the cost of something before just doing it. My cat typically hates when people hold her but she loves when the workers here hold her.. a cats intuition never lies

The only vets I trust to take care of my Great Dane. They have always squeezed me in on days when there was an emergency, handled his complex eye problems with customized care, and performed his multiple surgeries flawlessly. I genuinely appreciate that their first response is testing and evaluation rather than simply sending us home with a prescription. My dog loves going to Bluebonnet!

**Came back to edit and raise the stars. Finally, I was able to speak with the vet in person. He explained what was going on, which was nothing like the staff was telling me. Thank you for that! Then he allowed me to sign a waiver that released them after I asked him what I could do to stop this from happening.
That was a headache, but in the end, they came through, and I will continue taking my animals there.
My dog has all his fur back!
This one is really hard for me. I want to give 5 as I love this place, and I am on my 3rd dog and 2nd cat with them. In the last year, I guess another vet has taken over, which is what I was told. My dog has been getting allergy shots for over 5 years with them, no big deal. I take him up there, and they take him in the back, give them his almost $200 shot, and we leave. All of a sudden, last year, they started giving me so much grief about this shot. Wanting to charge an office fee "because the new vet didn't know if he would have a reaction, and because he hadn't been in almost a year." For 5 YEARS, he's gotten the same shot. Give me a break. The next month, I did his annual spent hundreds and was told this wouldn't happen again. Just over 6 months later, they again gave me grief because now "they hadn't seen him in 6 months. " Finally, they gave it to him, but my dog severely had to suffer due to their nickel and diming.
Took him last week, and for the first time in a year, they didn't give me grief. I really love this place, but this has ticked me off to no end.
I'll raise the stars if they stop being ridiculous. He had his fur before this and never gets this bad, becausehe alwaysgets his shot as needed. Y'all really need to do better! This is not ok.

Called on a Sunday, was asked if I could hold, I figured it wouldn’t be a long hold (even though this was an emergency) and said yes. Waited for 6 minutes but nobody came back on the line. Hung up and called again, was asked if I could hold, I said no that it’s an emergency and I had one question. Was immediately shut down by the person who talked over me even though I said no, that they closed in two hours and this was an emergency. I asked if they saw snakes as the person continued to talk over me and attempt to put me on hold, that was my question, a simple yes or no. Was told no and then I hung up and moved on. The person on the phone was rude, didn’t care that my call was an emergency, and still tried to put me on hold even though I said no when asked. Why ask if you’re not going to give me a choice?
Bad enough you ignored my request to not be put on hold, but then to try and blow me off after I state this was emergency is even worse. This is a warning to any pet parents calling on a Sunday trying to get their pet emergency care when most places are closed. SKIP THIS ONE, they don’t care if it’s an emergency.
Also if you look up “exotic vet” and they pop up, move on.

At Bluebonnet Animal Hospital they have empathy for animals and passion for helping animals. They are examples of good, kind-hearted people of this beautiful city. I came here because my boy Binx was having serious gastro issues. He's on the up and up thanks to the people here, open on Sunday. He purred when they touched him because he knew they were safe and helping him. This is my first cat; one can never have another first cat. I've been rocking with Binx for 9 years, and I hope to be blessed with many, many more. I'm glad he's doing better. Thank you!

Incredible and caring staff. I’ve taken a few pets here for checkups and emergencies. They always do a great job and have great manors. Simple and clean facilities.
Thank you for saving my pets lives more than once!

We have taken our pets here for almost 20 years, and while it used to be a top neighborhood place, that is not the case anymore. The past few visits we have seen a revolving door of doctors & techs of varying skill/training. They are all kind, but the bedside manner with our dogs has been atrocious. The level of care had diminished drastically over the years and I just don’t trust this facility anymore to provide care to our babies. If you are considering a vet to care for your pets, I would look elsewhere.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE. This place left my 12 year old dog traumatized after they couldn't draw his blood. They took him to a back room for the bloodwork so I have no clue how many times they poked him or what they had to do to get it, but they informed me they had to muzzle him due to his growling. I know stress can make dogs act out so I have no problem with using a muzzle for the safety of the staff and my dog, however not once in my 10 years of owning my dog have I ever heard him growl, even playfully. I don't want to even think about what they were doing to push him to that point. Due to his "aggression" they wanted to do the exam in the back room - out of my sight. I gave them a hard no on that. When the vet came in for his exam, I could tell she was mad that I was making her do it in front of me. She didn't even give him a proper exam. She ran her hand down his back and that was that. After very obviously not checking his eyes, I asked her about what seemed to be cataracts - she dismissed my concern and said his eyes looked fine (however, this was one of the first things his new vet mentioned). At that point I just wanted out of there as fast as possible. Now my dog has to have anti-anxiety meds to even step foot in another vet office.
Before switching to a new vet my dog had an emergency, I figured I'd call Bluebonnet before going to the ER since it was a weekend. After giving the receptionist my information to look him up, she asked his breed. Not only should this be irrelevant but it should also be in his records?? After I told her he's a pit mix, her response was "oh...a pitbull." I hung up and happily paid extra money to take him to the ER vet where he was properly treated with so much care and compassion. I can't stress enough how incredibly unprofessional this place is. Stay away at all costs.

DO NOT COME HERE. They will charge you ridiculous fees for treatments that did not happen. My dog has recurring ear infections. We wanted to refill his medication and they refused without an appointment. Fair. But when we got a bill for $250 for a recurring issue, I was shocked and disappointed. We were charged a “medical exam” in addition to the ear exam. What was the medical exam, we will never know because it did not happen. When asked what the medical exam was for, I was told to see the doctor. Did we not have to see the doctor for the ear exam? He just came in for his annual two months ago, so what was done in this “exam”. Did not check eyes, coat, teeth, etc. so we were literally charged for NOTHING. The vet checked his ears, confirmed what we all already knew, then proceeded to charge us $250. We will never return. I recommend asking exactly what they plan to do and at what cost before bringing your pet in.
