Yay! This aerial studio has knowledgeable, very sweet and attentive coaches. I have had the pleasure of visiting Blue Lapis Light and taking classes with coach Amy and Jennie (they both are most excellent)! The studio is very clean, bright and inviting with lots of parking right out so the studio doors. High ceilings and giant mirrors is a bonus. ? We love you BLL!

I just started going to the studio and it is such a joy! I feel like it's a secret little gem of a gym. ;) One of the things I really like about this studio is you are required to take two classes per week for the Silks which really boosts up my training game! The owner is such a sweetheart and so easy-going and the teachers that I have met so far have been very knowledgeable at Aerial. 100% recommend this place!

Blue Lapis Light is an aerial dance company founded by Artistic Director Sally Jacques in 2005, whose earlier works encompassed social, political, and spiritual themes. The studio is in a warehouse about twenty minutes from downtown, and consists of silks hanging from the ceiling. I definitely came in expecting to be sore the next few days, but I didn't expect how HARD it is to hang from a silk (like, I couldn't even lift myself off the ground). And to be fair, the professionals always make things easier than it seems -- people just dance so effortlessly in the air -- that I thought that maybe I could twirl in the air. But wow, aerial dancing requires so much practice, upper arm strength and balance to be so beautiful. The instructor there was extremely nice and helpful. Lisa made sure we were comfortable with the moves and was very encouraging to the both of us, which definitely made the experience more fun. At the end, we got to do some fun moves (i.e. flipping upside down, swinging, standing) and certainly, they weren't very pretty when I did them, but I definitely had a blast and will be back in a few weeks again!

I don’t know why they need 25 characters, because they only need 7, because this show is AWESOME.

High level instruction in aerial arts. The space is clean, has high ceilings with mirrors to match. The staff is very friendly and helps beginners feel welcome to their new life of flight.

I had the pleasure of meeting Nicole Whiteside at the American Circus Educators Conference and decided to leave my 5 star support for their project. I really enjoyed her calm, professional attitude and wish the crew at Blue Lapis the best of luck.
