I absolutely love Big Bertha’s Paradise a.k.a Henry. As an NYC shopper, I appreciate the exclusivity of this unique Austin Gem. BBP is owned by Henry who’s must ppl don’t know he is a top fashion icon. Henry has always made me and my family feel like top notch customers. I read some reviews of customers complaining about not being allowed to take selfies or being told certain things. How would they like if someone walks into their home and wants to take selfies of their items without asking? - very classless to think that’s ok then get behind a screen to criticize. So so sad. Then maybe BBP it is not the place for those unhappy souls. There are many other places that suits their needs and expectations.I’m sure BBP will be around until Henry wants it to be. Thank you Henry for your excellent taste and all the beautiful pieces we have been fortunate to buy from you.

This place is actually disgusting. Might as well have spat in our faces. In no way should a small business make customers feel like they can't afford the items in the store. IMMEDIATELY upon walking in i received a "no pictures, delete that. have you ever been here before? it's very expensive." If these designer pieces were SO valuable, why are they shoved together, stacked on top of each other and laying on the ground.Maybe if you cared about being nice to customers you could expand your store to fit these pieces properly. Such a sad sad store.Hope this place gets shut down, NO person whether they can afford it or not should ever be talked to that way. I suggest doing your vintage designer shopping at garment, very beautiful & organized store. i’ve always been treated like a valued customer there, no matter what i look like or am wearing.

If zero stars was possible I would give it to them in a heartbeat the hospitality is not anywhere near the word “nice” or “welcoming” AT ALL not like any of their neighboring buildings mentioning things like “have you been here before? It’s very expensive” in such a disgusting tone and also there being multiple items being less than 30 dollars. Please do better and it also smelled really bad! I would get that checked!! Thank you

“It’s very expensive in here, it’s not a thrift store.” If it’s not a thrift store why is everything crammed together, stacked on each other, and laying on the ground being stepped on. You’d think their vintage high fashion would be better taken care and higher quality, with how rude the staff was. They have rules which is fine, but present those rules in a clear way that’s not hidden and yet again, has stuff stacked on it. My friend took a photo of a purse right when we stepped in because her mom used to have, and was immediately bombarded to take no photos and to delete the picture now. From there on they were just terrible, do better.

RUDE STAFF! It smelt so bad, i was created at the door by three roaches on top of each other in a trench coat pretending to be a man and they spat on me! They called me poor and stole my lunch money then curb stomped me outside. Do not go here!

Absolutely never again. As me and my friend walked in the door was wide open were we can’t see the rules. We walked in a seen a pretty mirror me and my friend wanted take a cute selfie in. As we did we got yelled out and said we need to leave they said we basically couldn’t buy anything in there and need to leave. Meanwhile calling us “little ones” to offend us. The owner even was very rude to us which was quite unprofessional. Making us feel like we were too poor to shop in there. We didn’t get respected as we walked in there. The people outside of the store even watched what happened and decided to leave bc of the way we got treated just for a picture. DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR BUSINESS!!!

Staff is horribly rude. Didn’t purchase and will never purchase from this shop because of it.

looked around for less than 10 minutes before the staff told us to “try the place across the street” for something “more affordable.” Not worth the visit or the dust

I always have so much fun in here! The guys take time to style me and help me find staple pieces that I will enjoy for years to come. I came in for the first time wearing very plain clothes, and they weren't rude to me at all; instead they hooked me UP with the coolest jacket ever! I also brought my enby tween in on another occasion, and Henry was so sweet and took the time to talk fashion with them. My kiddo ended up with some AMAZING pieces! For those who complain about rudeness - this is not a store who suffers fools. Respect the goods, and remember that you get what you pay for. This isn't a thrift store!

Love this place!!! Showed up on the same day I had a big event and the team helped me pick out something beautiful that fit perfectly. Staff is so friendly and definitely knows their stuff. Thank you!!

Beautiful collection of clothes and accessories! Harry has always been incredibly helpful in providing styling advice or pulling accessories to compliment a dress. I love Bertha’s!Some reviews mentioned lack of customer service and that is shocking from my experience. There are very clear guidelines for entering and behaving in the store which are understandable due to size of store in comparison to inventory, the delicate nature of vintage clothing, and in this era of folks using stores and dressing rooms to create personal content for likes and follows. Just be respectful and be ready to be dazzled!

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. The staff here is genuinely disgusting. I went in with 3 friends to browse, we were inside for maybe 5 minutes. As we were walking out and said thank you to the staff, I overheard the owner talking horribly about us to his coworker. A grown man calling 4 girls disgusting vulgar words for trying to support their local business? Please shop elsewhere.

Beautiful staff with immaculate taste in all things vintage and fashion.... They also have a good taste in people which means if they don't like you it's well deserved

5 seconds within going in they somehow found a way to be the worst possible staff. Have no idea how they’re even still in business when it’s just some musty clothes they scalped and an ancient excuse for a man who spends all day harassing potential customers. do not go here. I hope this building is smited by a great calamity
