Very Refreshing pool. The cold water is good for you. It Gets up to 14 feet deep, Not that hard to swim in. I highly recommend aqua shoes while walking on the bottom of the pool.
Take note… On the other side of the gate is a public river, not a pool (free access) where there’s homeless people laying around, dogs running around wild And people selling and or using narcotics. Keep your kids away from this side, it’s not safe for them.
So it’s definitely worth paying the extra fee to get in the park which is gated, has its own diving board, restrooms/showers and a very large pool.

Water is so clear and love chilling at this place! The fencing area will cost money if you are citizen of Austin area will be $5 but if not then $9 per person! Definitely worth the money and experience for sure! Will definitely come back with friends and family next time!

The springs were closed when we went. No signage or info as to why the pool couldn’t be accessed.
Looks like they’re doing works on a new facility on the west side, so double check they have opened on the pool before you make the trek there.

Honestly it looked cool but I wouldn’t swim in it. There were warning signs about the bacteria in the water. I couldn’t do it but others looked like they were enjoying themselves lol there was a side you pay to enter and another side others freely entered and had their dogs in the water

First time in the spring pool. $9/person. We had a good time. Water is cold though. Parking is limited but not bad to find and free.
Restrooms: There is a bathroom and shower on the trailer. Very few but at least there is something.

I will never come back again. The water is so disgusting that it gave me a painful ear infection

Unnecessarily harsh enforcement of a non alcohol policy (if they see you with a beer OUTSIDE of their premises you are barred from entering) through which honesty is disincentivized. I bet the place is real nice, but we would not know.

We went to Barton Springs on Sunday of the ACL festival and arrived around 11am. We had no issues finding a spot in the shade to set out stuff down and we ended up staying for around 4.5hrs total.
It's $9 to get in if you're not a local and you're able to stamp your hand so you can leave and come back later in the day, if you want.
No food is allowed, so be sure to eat beforehand.
The water temperature was around 68F or 20C, so it was very refreshing to swim in. Note - this was 06OCT - air temp was around 93F or 34C.
Recommend bringing a blanket or towel to lay out on, and flip flops to walk around the swimming area since the pathway is slightly jagged with rocks.
Would 100% come back to Barton Springs when I'm back in Austin next! Such a great place to relax for the day!
