We have had such great experiences at Aqua Dome! Their staff are all incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful! They’ve been such a wonderful asset to us as we’ve set up a small 10 gallon with fish, and a 2.5 gallon with shrimp! They have great prices and happy and healthier tanks than any of the big box stores in the area. It’s also just a unique place to visit!

They always have a huge variety of fresh and saltwater fish. They're very knowledgeable about all of them and give good recommendations.

I love bringing my kids to see the turtles and all the many fish! We come here to buy beta fish when ours die of old age eventually. I want to get a big aquarium one day and enjoy dreaming of it every time I come visit. We usually come here at least twice a month! Gorgeous fish and they really are knowledgeable about their products and the fish. Good prices too! I enjoy the puffer fish the best after the beta!

Thanks to the help of the people at Aqua-dome, Ginger the thick-lipped gourami and all my other fish survived what turned out to be a 16-hour train ride back to school after the holidays!People who work here are aquarium hobbyist types first who really know their stuff, are very friendly, and clearly care a lot about fish-keeping. Store has a great selection and regularly has the sorts of things you won’t find anywhere else in town.

Great place for pond and saltwater stuff. They have freshwater too. Pond fish a little on the pricey side. Make sure to check the back outside for the pond section. Saltwater is upstairs freshwater is downstairs pond stuff is outback.

I have literally nothing but positive things to say about this place. The staff have been amazing and taught me SO MUCH! They are knowledgeable about fish and corals/plants in a way you cannot find at many places. I have visited for years and years and years - over a decade actually - and even though I no longer live in Austin, I come here every single time I come through town. An absolute gem with amazing humans and gorgeous fish!

Dont go to Petsmart or Petco. Come here!I love this unique store with knowledgeable, nice, and happy to help staff! Dont forget they have a few items outdoors to look at and purchase. They have a turtle/Koi pond with massive Koi and a cool group of turtles, lilly pads, and other pond stuff.Inside is awesome! More than a Petsmart or Petco would have for Aquatica.Down stairs are freshwater fish and upstairs is saltwater.Anything you can think of that you want for your aquarium is here. Don't go to amazon or online sellers for natural items for your tank. Aquadome prob has real legit stuff versus amazon, so I started coming here for everything.Even if you just want to go fish watch or a quick fish watching date, come here. There is plenty to see for a good walk through. Versus is going and paying for an aquarium place to walk through imo. They have a great return policy if you purchase fish that dont get along with your current fish.Or they will accept fish you can't support anymore. They love what they are doing, and it shows in their customer service and business.

First time there today with my kids and we loved it! A really great selection of freshwater and saltwater fish and gear. We left with some corals for our saltwater tank and we’ll definitely be back! The building is also literally a dome - How cool is that!

If you are new to the aquarium life I would not recommend going to this store at all. It seems they really only care about making sales and taking advantage of anyone new.First problem I had was when I started and was told that I could go ahead and throw 5 ember tetra and 2 shrimp into my tank after letting it run for 3 days. I mentioned wanting a testing kit and was informed I didn't need one and it was unnecessary. So of course right after the warranty for dying fish was up, everything started dropping like flies until I was inevitably left with 1 after 2 weeks.Follow up to now 2 months in.. I went in looking for Dwarf oto, was told it would be too big for the 3in space I have left in my 10gal and the chick kept pushing for snails, which I was adamant I wanted NOTHING to do with because of the horror stories I had heard about them. I was also looking for Java moss to add to my tank. This chick sold me a moss ball that wound up being infested with ramshorn snails. I'm talking at least 10 popped up in my tank and I was in tears. Then I get told on the phone that "duh that's how they come and you would need a culture tissue of it if you wanted to avoid that", which of course wasn't mentioned to me when the other chick sold it to me at all. They then tried to push me for an assassin snail (which are just as bad about taking over tanks after I did more research on them) to take care of the now infestation I have in my 10gal tank that I quite literally JUST got right and I'm still beyond upset. I took the moss up there and wound up just grabbing a small piece of driftwood and leaving before I started crying again.Honestly they're severely overpriced and there are much better options, with people who will legitimately educate you on your decisions vs just trying to make sales and taking advantage of the fact that you're new and just play d*** afterwards. The 3 times I've been in there I've also seen a LOT of dead fish in the tanks, there's literally dust on half the merchandise (which isn't a surprise considering the prices). AquaTek is awesome. They also run specials a lot more. As well as Austin Aqua Farm.If you're experienced I'm sure it's fine, I'd you want to pay way more, but if you're just starting out I would highly recommend going elsewhere.

They have a wonderful selection of fish, and I really have not had a negative experience until today. The staff are not very friendly to begin with, but I took that with a grain of salt because I love to support mom and pop shops. It's very difficult keeping fish from here alive though, and there is a one week warranty or so I thought. The fish I bought immediately died in a day or two from ich, so I brought in the bodies to get a refund and water to have them do a water test as they requested. They told me my nitrate and nitrite levels were extremely high which is weird to me because my tank is heavily planted and I do keep up with maintenance, had just done a water change a few days before coming in and my tank has been cycled for several months. Because of these results, they only agreed to give me half credit. I have my own test kit at home and went home immediately to test my water because it didn't make sense to me, only to find that my water parameters were normal. No high levels of nitrates and nitrites as they said. So I called back to explain to them my situation just so maybe we can perform another test to double check, only to be met with an attitude and to be told that I will have to pay more money to get an additional test. Pay more money? For what? When I explained that I did not want to pay for an additional test, the manager or whomever responded with "that's a tough spot to be in." Customer service 10/10! That IS a tough spot to be in, realizing the local mom and pop shop care about profit and money over the well being of their fish and satisfaction of their customers.

This place is always awesome. So many fish to see, and supplies available. I bought some water treatment stuff and hardscape for a new freahwater tank Im planning.Staff are generally friendly and they know a ton!I have been there so many times and never actually went back to see the ponds. Very neat!!Only downside is its tough to navigate the narrow walkways when its packed on a weekend.Overall, love this place!
