Horrendous experience. I placed my order on 8/16 and as of today, 8/29, after being reassured at least six times that the delivery would be made by the end of the day, still no gas. I genuinely feel for the customer service agents in their foreign call centers (bold move to call yourself Amerigas and outsource your customer service to other countries, on the cheap) who have to deal with the fallout of their employer’s incompetence. In my desperation to have a hot shower, i looked for another company in the area who might actually value my business and found one—they’re filling the tank now, three hours (not weeks!!) after I placed the order. Please save yourself the stress and frustration of attempting to do business with Amerigas and find a local company who actually gives a damn.

Bad customer service

There customer service is non-existent. I constantly get sent to a call center where the representative can only talk from a script and cannot understand what I want. It is maddening!!! Do not use this company! I repeat, DO NOT USE AMERIGAS!!!

Set up new account, received bill and was considered overdue the day of receipt. I then get tripled charged in 1 month with autopay - which 2 charges did get refunded but still - their systems are very poor to do this accidentally! Finally - my 2nd month, I get billed $900 for 1 month of service for a regular 4 bedroom house - after 1 day of bill issuance, I then get an overdue/disconnection notice. I called and they agreed to do an investigation but seems every month there are issues where I either get my account debited for 1000-2000 dollars and/or I get threatened with disconnection 1 day after a bill is issued. This company is just plain bizaar and impossible to be a customer for.

Amerigas has the WORST customer service and experience I've ever seen.
We have a propane LEAK - 50% of our propane has leaked out from our tank and I haven't had hot water for 10 days now.
After calling and getting somebody to come out for the appt to check for the leak they showed up, didn't check for the leak, said my tank is too close to a building (granted they have personally filled this tank multiple times exactly as is) and left the property and marked the appointment as complete.
I called again, was told another technician would come out.
2 days goes by - nobody comes.
I call and talk to the resolution center for 55 mins while their customer service ARGUES with me about the situation and tries to tell me my propane didn't leak but that it was never filled because of the location. I've paid Amerigas thousands of dollars to fill this tank with no changes on my end to the location of the tank as it's been this way since I bought the house in 2018.
Then he tells me that there is a leak and it's from a note they made in January about the tank saying it might need to be repaired but was still safe to operate and proceeded to filled my tank.
This may be the case but again, nobody tested it. I told them I'm happy to pay for a new tank but their service technician didn't come out and even test that this is the problem and therefore what if it's not and I have a leak in my pipes that nobody is testing for.
He then told me I'm free to hire a different company to come and test. Which yes, I am. But I paid a $250 service fee for them to come and test it.
I was argued with and excuses were made left and right for very clear poor customer service and mess ups on their part.
I was promised another technician would be out today. It's 5pm and nobody has showed up. My options are to sit on hold for 20 minutes, repeat this story to the 5th person I've talked to because they don't keep clear notes on the account and hope this time they show up.
I'll for sure be switching companies. I do not recommend Amerigas unless you want to waste a ton of money and time and be told you will get support and deliveries only to have that not be the case and then be argued with when the company clearly is a complete mess.

If there were zero stars, that would be my rating. I recommend exploring others versus choosing Amerigas.

As I’m sitting here on hold for the 3rd day in a row for over 30 minutes I can’t help but write this review. Amerigas has the absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my life. After being billed $150 a month for a tank rental instead of $15 a month, I decided it was time to find a new company. It took months and MANY phone calls talking to someone in a call center that I could barely understand to finally get a refund for the overcharge.Amerigas was schedule to pick up my tank on Tuesday between 8-12. I had Direct Propane (amazing customer service by the way) scheduled to deliver my new tank at 2pm. When they promptly arrived, they then had to leave to get a crane truck because the Amerigas tank was still there. They happily did so and now 3 days later the Amerigas tank is still sitting in my front yard.Amerigas, please come pick up your tank or I will assume you no longer want it and I will sell it myself. Thanks!!Update…after an hour on the phone yesterday they assured me the tank would be picked up yesterday. Surprise surprise…it’s still sitting in my front yard. UNBELIEVABLE!!!Update #2…finally after multiple phone calls and 10 days later, the tank was picked up. I then received a $450 bill! $300 was for pickup which all they did was pick it up off my front lawn because Direct Propane had already unhooked it and moved it to the curb after Amerigas no showed on our appointment . Then I was charged $150 for early termination fee. At this point I’m happy to pay that $150 to never have to deal with this company again but the $300 pick up charge is ridiculous!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Same as the other 1 star reviews. I have called multiple times and been told a different date for my delivery every time. Still no delivery.Update: The morning after posting this review I received a call and email from an Amerigas customer service person, Linda. She was very helpful, listened to my problem and provided a solution. The next day I had my gas delivered without a hitch, had a very professional and competent delivery driver. I know that the employees are trying their hardest to keep this company in good standing with their customers, but it is a shame they have to work so hard to do it. Fix the system!!

They're customer service representatives cant hang up on you! Dont let them put you on hold or transfer you. Avoid this company at all cost! They have centralized their operations and there is no way to speak to anyone who lives in the U.S.Look at their response to every complaint, "call us because we can't discuss your contact information." My account says they delivered 229 gal in early JAN 2024 and Im being charged for it, but I did not get any gas. I've been calling for 3 weeks and every time I speak with or get transfered to someone, they verify ALL of my contact information again and again and again. Ask you over and over what utilities in your home use the propane but won't correct the information, then keep telling us that we are on auto refill and they will automatically schedule a delivery but won't say when. I went through major surgery yesterday, we are under 20% (well past the auto refill trigger) and have been told that we will receive a delivery tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath. We have been told it will be an extra $300 because it's classified as an emergency delivery and I will have to pay the full bill for the propane I didn't get if I terminate my service with them. This has been going on so long that individuals are setting up social media sites to give customers a place to voice their frustrations. Save yourself the frustration and anxiety and choose another provider, no matter how much it costs.

I've been waiting 2 weeks for a delivery. I finally bought from another company right before I ran out. Terrible service

TERRIBLE SERVICE! I have been lied to about delivery dates every time I have called. I have been calling for over a week since my first phone call and still no delivery. Original delivery was for 11/21/2023 and it is 1/17/2024 with no delivery. I am currently out of gas and I am on the automatic delivery with Amerigas. I now have frozen water lines in my house. And yes the lines were being dripped. You cannot talk with a local person and all calls go through a call center. AVOID AMERIGAS! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

We have been waiting for a delivery for 3 days and still can't get a firm delivery date. Customer service stinks.

EDIT: I have contacted customer service below, per their reply to this original comment. Unsurprisingly, they have not responded to me at all. Not even an auto-reply that they got my message. If I could give zero stars, I would. We were on the "worry-free" automatic delivery plan. They let us run out of gas four times, and never once did anything to make it right. They couldn't even be bothered to come fill it up within 24 hours, despite customer service saying that they would. My advice is to get your propane from anywhere else.

My in-laws (mid-eighties) are enrolled in the autofill program. However, not once, but, TWICE, they were left with a completely empty tank. Both times were before major winter storms. They were guaranteed fills within 24 hours. The first time took over a week to get the tank filled. This time, they again were promised 24 hours. They are sitting in the cold, unheated house 4 days later without an estimated fill time. Amerigas, this is not a fluke or a misunderstanding. This is irresponsible negligence. There are other propane companies and we have moved on.
