First I absolutely LOVE the medical side of this business. They are amazing, helpful and professional ❤️ 5 stars for them!
But the grooming side gets 3 stars. Why? They set my appt for 8am. A bath and nails cut... she is an English bulldog... no fur or combing. Easy. BUT 4 1/2 later she is still sitting in a kennel. The medical side had time to update her vaccines but she can't get a bath because they were busy with kennel dogs?? Then why did you make her appt for 8 am? My one day off and I drive an hour to get there and what the heck am I going to do on a sunday in Athens for over 4.5 hrs? Now my dog smells like cat and still dirty and long nails. If I had a dog that needed a cut and blow dry, I would understand.... but I don't... that's why I don't. I don't recommend going there for grooming unless you first ask how long your dog will have to stay simply for a bath. I'm seriously angry that I now have to go home an bathe her. I could have done this hours ago. Thanks for wasting the few hours of free time I get each week. ???

"Jasper"of course the sweetest dog in the world and my constant companion want to say we both love this Clinic. In all seriousness they deserve 10 stars. Last visit was for a vaccine...from the time I called the Office and Jasper received his vaccine was less than an hour. He didn't feel a thing⭐️ The previous visit was several months ago and he was not feeling well at all. Once again just a quick phone call and a precautionary test for parvo, curbside. Thankfully it was negative so off we went to quickly be seen by a super compassionate and knowledgeable Veterinarian. After tests, shots and IV fluids we were on our way with a couple of medications for him to take. I have to say from the receptionists, assistants and Doctors I could not have felt more relief. They were all "THE BEST" Even always checking on him making sure he is better the next day. Thank you!!
BTW Dr. John Morton, Sr. took wonderful care of our dog, cat and beautiful horses many years ago when we were all many years younger. My parents loved him. That said the super loving care is still there ?

I cannot say how grateful I am for the drs, staff, and care my fur babies get from your clinic. A huge shout out to Dr. Clay and Dominique for your help and care for my Darby last night. Dominique was so knowledgeable and precious with us and my sweet Darby. Always have a follow up call to check on my babies. You are truly blessed to have Dominique and such sweet and caring docs and staff. I thank you from the deepest part of my heart ❤️ and pray for everyone there and over each family member you care for. Truly, Penney Nichols! Way to go Dr. John and Ginger!!! Great job to all!

Dr Morton is amazing! He is now tied for number one vet in my book. The amount of compassion and empathy that he shows is remarkable. He is taking care of many pups that I have brought in, and he never ceases to surprise me with his love and concern with these babies.

I took my cat in for a 730 appointment and sat in a room for two hours without being seen. No followup with vet staff. Horrible service. Not one staff member checked in on us to give us an update. Horrible vet clinic. You go in for one thing and have to keep coming back. So the vet can steal money. Worthless clinic

My boyfriend and I went in a couple days ago to pick up the ashes of his dog that passed away. The front counter people worked diligently and were extremely understanding, as well as patient with us. We wound up being at the wrong vet, yet the staff was still completely kind. It was very appreciated!

Highly recommend this clinic and all of the staff. We have used them on several occasions during our visit to Athens to include grooming, baths, vaccinations and one vet visit. Prices are reasonable and everyone is so kind. I felt very comfortable leaving my Aussies in their care.

If there was a lesser star I'd give that rating! I'm so frustrated with this clinic it's not even funny they continue to change the appointment time on me.

I took my 5 year old to be groomed at their grooming facility today, and did not have a good experience! The first thing that happened, was the receptionist put a lead around my small dogs neck, and he has always been on harness which he was today as well! He has severe separation anxiety and she was pulling so hard on the lead to get him to the back she was choking him. I had to stop her and reprimand her in front of other customers to please stop choking my dog. He is a small shih tzu, and there was absolutely no reason to be so rough with him! She did scoop him up and carry him back, however I was so stressed and worried that there would be more bad treatment of my baby that I only went across the street to Walmart for a short time and came back to sit in the lobby. When she brought him back out his hair was not cut the way I had asked! He has had a Mohawk since he was a baby and I asked for his Mohawk to be shortened along with rest of his hair, and the top of his head was not even touched. After complaining she took him back and 1 of the groomers started putting gel on the long hair on top of his head, and I had to knock on the door to complain again that a Mohawk is very short, so finally a groomer cut it shorter! I don't expect perfection, but it would have been nice to not come home and have to cut all of the long hair left around his mouth and legs! I mean that's why we pay a groomers and I tipped very well. Needless to say I eont ever take any of my animals to be groomed here again!

I found this clinic quite by accident. My parents, Queensland blue heeler Stock dog had in advertently become overheated in the blistering heat wave. I received an urgent call from my dad at 8 PM and immediately came to their home. It was extremely evident that the dog was in distress. I had called their usual clinic in Palestine and was directed to one of their sister clinics in Athens, Texas or Tyler, Texas, which have extended hours till 10 PM seven days a week. I called the Athens office and quickly described the condition of the dog where upon they said, bring her in immediately.
The care rendered was exceptional from the first step into the clinic. Every technician the veterinarian, the receptionist all took extraordinary care to be sure that our animal had a fighting chance. The story has a happy ending! They acted quickly and after two nights in their Hospital facility She was able to leave and is now doing very well. They contacted me daily with updates on her bloodwork and reports on her demeanor. They called 24 hours after she was dismissed from the hospital at home to verify that she was still improving.
I went there because it was the only thing open in a 40 mile radius, but would gladly go there again and again. Thank you, Dr. Clay and staff for your expert care and compassionate practice.

I have a few animals, been to quite a few veterinary clinics. By far this is the best one that I have ever been to. The care and compassion of everyone working here is fantastic. My wife and I both agree that this one is great. They were open on Sunday as well.

I did not have a good experience with this Vet Hospital. I went in one day since my dog was feeling ill. They ran blood work and everything seemed to be fine the Vet claimed. Said my dog was just dehydrated. They supplied antibiotics and an IV. They next the my dog was worse and we took her back to the same Vet and same Dr. But this time he says he needs to run labs again and do an x-ray. He comes back after the labs and says he’s not sure what happened and made her decline in health. He recommended we put my dog down after he misdiagnosed my dog. So in all I paid over $1000 in Hosipial Fees and lost my dog. Nice people, but I do not recommend with my experience here.

One of the Drs did surgery on my dog in April… she was brachycephalic so I asked about the soft palate surgery to possibly help with her breathing… anyway he did it… a few weeks later my dog wouldn’t stop panting she was barely eating and drinking… I brought her back and told them there was something wrong with her… her white blood cell count was elevated… so they treated her for an infection… that didn’t work I brought her back about a week later they did ANOTHER antibiotic which didn’t work… I brought her back AGAIN this time they put her on pain meds and high blood pressure meds… which wouldn’t you know DIDN’T WORK!!!! I was then told the dog supposedly had cushings even though the test came back negative! I was also told at the time the dog was also supposedly allergic to Carprofen and NOT to give her anymore! Well after bringing her in for several months with the same complaints and several thousands dollars later the dog is dead!!!! It appears the dr that did her surgery had botched the surgery!!! According to the vet this morning her throat had been slowly swelling since the surgery!!! I’m going to be looking at options in the next few weeks since these “drs” knew that her surgery hadn’t been preformed correctly and kept leading me to believe the dog was fine other than possible cushings!!! They had several months and several chances to come clean and say they screwed up the surgery and send us to a specialist but decided to double down and say there was nothing wrong!!!!! You guys really need to clean up your act!!!! This is gross negligence and possibly malpractice!!!!
People you’ve been warned!!!! IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMALS DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! She could have been saved if they had just referred her to a specialist and didn’t lead me on!!!! Instead I put myself and other people in danger trying to get my dog help this morning because her throat had finally swelled to the point she could no longer breathe!! It was too late to save her!!! Please stay away!!! Don’t make your animal suffer because of them!!! If these “drs” tell you there is nothing wrong get a second opinion because they are WRONG!!!!!! Don’t let them lie to you!!!!
You people disgust me and should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!

We are new to the area and had a small emergency with one of our pups, who needed stitches. We all know when our fur babies are hurt, even minor emergencies seem large. I can not stress enough how kind, loving, professional, and thorough everyone in the clinic was - from the front desk to the tech to the vet. They took such amazing care of our Whiskey - she was comfortable from the moment we walked in. They explained everything, including the costs involved, before taking care of her so that we knew exactly what to expect, and they loved on her the entire time. I can’t recommend this facility and team enough!
