I previously worked here as a monitor years ago, believing I was coming into a place which actually cared about its community and being a light in times of darkness. It was NOT and I am sure still is not either. One of the previous case managers was Jamie Walton and she was one of the worst excuses for a Professional "Christian" I ever witnessed as she regularly bashed and demeaned the shelter families behind their backs, made an effort to do as little work as possible (including leaving early yet being paid for the full day) and treated me like dirt everyday. I will never forget how horrified I was when a woman returned very late from an UNEXPECTED overtime work shift and she was so exhausted and her children were happy to see her and had saved a meal for her in the small cafeteria but overhearing this, the case manager forcefully reminded me that the cafeteria closing time is to be ENFORCED regardless of circumstances (this mother had returned from work a mere hour after closing). When the vile case manager left, the tired mother's children came to me asking to unlock the cafeteria and naturally, being that I was always obedient and respectful of authority, told them it was closed for the night. These kids were shocked and nearly in tears now knowing that their mother working WAY HARDER than any case manager to improve her family's lives would be denied food. So you can bet I did the CHRISTIAN action and unlocked the cafeteria and it took all of 20 minutes for the woman to eat and visit with her children before going to bed. The conduct by the staff at this place was simply inhumane at times. The only reason I even stay for a season is because some of the families liked me and appreciated my kindness (which was in direct contrast to most of the other staff) and they always knew I wouldn't treat them poorly.

Foul , that’s all I have to say , these employees for so called Christian organizations are worse than Satan himself , being rude and disrespectful cause somebody’s in a vulnerable situation. lol it’s honestly a sick practice how they play games with people . They aren’t here to help your just a number to these vultures. Your best bet is to not end up in a situation where you need shelter , at that point you might as well not be human cause you sure as hell won’t be treated like one .

I am a disabled widow with many disabilities I became homeless in TX and I went to the Salvation Army seeking shelter on July 28th with my Service Animal and the entire staff wa very rude. Ms. Martha denied me and my Service Animal shelter she spoke very rudely to me about my Sa I informed her tjat she was a state licensed SA she stated she didn't care and she was denying both of us shelter bc she was afraid of dogs. My Service Animal was not a threat to anyone she was laying on the ground . Martha stood in the door with it cracked and layed games. She refused to give me any information to file a complaint nor her Supervisor information. She said she was over the facility and she didn't have a Boss. I was already facing a hardship and this experience was very uncalled for. I plan on taking actions against this facility for a violation of my civil rights and denisl of a service animal. This was the worstexperience I ever had suring a hardship

While I was attending UTA and cannot find parking space, I decided to park on the street in front of this place on Border Place— not in their parking lot. They thought it is cool to put a note on my windshield threaten to have my car towed. There is no "no parking" sign anywhere on the street.

I worked here back in 2016 as a student minister. I really like the overall vision of the Salvation. I was there When Captain Jones and his wife were the leaders really great people. I was also was there when Lt. Israel and his wife came to take over leadership. LT. Israel through his body language and lack of engagement with me made it clear he didnt want me on staff anymore. His personality is a little awkward and he was withdrawn, but who knows he was young and inexperience at the time. I pray he has grown since then. DONT MAKE PEOPLE FEEL UNWANTED JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THEM OR THERE FUNCTION! IF YOU HAVEN'T LEARNED THIS BY NOW YOU MAY WANT TO RETHINK MINISTRY AS YOU CALLING GOOD SIR!

This place makes your feel good when u first get there but it sucks. The two black ladies that are there dont help out for s**** So much paperwork but no help or action. Staff who is always outside on the weekends n never inside..on Saturdays! Gaybl...is that white lady with glasses. Cook sucks! Food out dated! Kids dont like food here so be ready to buy food to eat before you get here. No lights. Outside no safely! There is like no leader. They are just there for the money..helping is bs. Careful who u express yourself to in here...they will use it against u. It was just a sad time to be there. They knowing families are going throught hard times....weekend cooks...thats if they show us to cook. Sandwiches are old careful... Gabb the staff lady 80% of the time she is outside on Saturdays....she is very rude to small kid's...if parents are not around pay attention. Dont let her polite behaver lie to u. Jamie man have no idea how she got where she is! Stupid mf. Just because u have dogs it doesn't mean u know what is taking care of a family to feed. Everyone....be careful with your kids in here. Remember just because they smile at you it doesn't mean they care specially here.

I briefly did community service there to pay off a traffic ticket. That was a mistake. The entire time I was abused by a member of the staff. That staff member constantly used profanity and made physical threats for no reason. I finally ended up just paying the traffic ticket. A bad experience. Much better to just pay my traffic ticket than try to work it off in a place ran by a bully. And they call it a "Christian" organization. Really. Give me a break.

A little frustrated and annoyed came here for a quick look and left in a bad mood. Although they color code the clothes they don't have size markers. What a waste of time! Like I have time to check the tag on every piece of clothing to make sure it's my size. Racks are crowded and a mess. Nope! Salvation Army.

What a terrible experience this summer. Will never send my children there again. Parents should be watching their kids at the Arlington camp. Some very rude workers at this camp, and very very unprofessional. Incident happened with one of my children a week ago, have yet to receive a call back to resolve this matter. They have workers there who does not how to handle children. Be careful, sending your children there.
