11/18/23 - The two people working tonight were rock stars. This location was busier than any Saturday night I’ve seen (customers were discussing this fact while we waited). These employees were consistently sweet and working quickly. They were even apologetic, even though it wasn’t their fault in any way. Whomever manages this location should be ashamed of the countless times employees are overwhelmed on a Saturday night. The manager should be there to help. It’s the manager’s store, and these employees don’t make enough to balance out tonight’s rush.Thank you to both of you who worked tonight under such duress - and still made the best pizzas in town. <3Would have been 5 stars if a manager seemed involved in any way.

The price was excellent, the location is good, parking is ample, the ordering process was simple, the store was clean and the employees were nice, 5 stars for that. -4 stars for the pizza, it's really awful. Really, really awful. And I LOVE pizza. I like it so much I will eat frozen pizza (well...some frozen pizzas.) The toppings seemed fresh and the pizza looked good, but the crust tasted like crust from a 1980 era frozen pizza. And I don't mean it tasted similar to the frozen pizzas that you bought in 1980, it tasted like a pizza actually made in 1980 and stored in the freezer since then. I really wanted to like this place, it's cheap and clean and close and the employees are so nice, but it's just the worst pizza. I got the "original crust", possibly THE original crust. Maybe the other items are better, I will never know.

I have been getting papa m pizzas for at least 20 years, since I lived out west where they originated. I know from experience with these Texas stores that if you call in your order they will give you a pre-made pizza ( sauce and cheese already on it). It is not really that hard to make, so not sure why they feel the need to do this. The sauce ends up drying out. So I went in to the Bowen location to get 2 pizzas to take to the lake for the weekend. It was about 10 am or so, and they were not busy. I asked the girl to make them fresh. She said they had to use the pre-makes first. I asked when they were made and she said she thought last night. Well, they definitely weren’t made that morning or she would have known. So I said no, please make it fresh. She did so begrudgingly. I asked for both original crust. I didn’t realize until I was baking them that the pepperoni was thin crust because I kind of burned it thinking it needed to cook longer. I guess thin crust has a shorter time and maybe temp? So I guess that’s my last papa Murphy’s. Frozen pizza would have been better. And also I noticed as I was sitting there that the store was pretty dirty. For just opening they had not swept or mopped. Food and crumbs were up under the counter.
