Family Dollar is a low end store that is hardly really clean, which is to be expected. Customers go to this type of store to get quality items at a discount price. The store has displays, including one for school supplies that were marked $1.50, but other items like fake nails and makeup foundation were incorrectly placed there, making them look $1.50 when they were $6 or $9. This can embarrass people at the register. The store setup can be disorganized, with lots of stuff crammed into displays that needs to be put in its proper location. The nail area is not right, with fake nails hung incorrectly. Customer service experiences vary greatly. One employee provides great customer service from the time you walk through the door. However, another employee is described as rude, hateful, and rude. That employee has made offensive comments. All the other workers are not friendly at all, including the manager. Behavior reflects leadership, and the team is not told to have great customer service if leadership does not. The store hires senior citizens and mentally disabled people, but the paper application process is noted. People go there often, sometimes feeling they have no choice.
