I’ve known Ruth, the director for 15 years and have worked with her for most of that time. You will NOT find a more loving and supportive teacher/director. She has poured her heart into this position, and has acted with the utmost professionalism. I would not hesitate to send my child/grandchild to MDS.

My grandchildren have attended and have been blessed by the program. Ruth Odom has had an incredible positive impact on the program. Prayers go out to Ms Box. I hope she finds somewhere she can be happy.

My middle kiddo was so shy and timid starting school this last year… as the new year approaches I’m so grateful for the amazing experience he had in the spring at the MDS!! He’s officially ready for AISD! Ms. Ruth and her team of teachers have been such a blessing! There is more PEACE and JOY in that school than there’s been in years.

Enough time has passed and my feelings remain the same. I used to trust this school with my most precious asset in my life, and now I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. This spring, they forced a teacher to resign without any notice to her or the parents in advance….in the middle of the semester. When the notification was sent that our students have a new teacher, there was no mention of the teacher that dedicated 29 years to this school had left (voluntarily or involuntarily). No mention of her dedication and services. No offer for her to tell the children or parents goodbye. The email notification came at 3:04 on a Friday, which meant there was no other contact from the school for the weekend. When the parents brought enough concern forward, they decided on Sunday afternoon to notify us that a parent conference would be held Monday morning. They didn’t answer most questions or concerns, instead they just “assured” us that our kids are in good hands with the new teacher (who I’m sure was capable, but she wasn’t the reason my child was attending). The way that the school board and staff handled the situation was all VERY shady. Several families (mine included) pulled our children from the school solely due to the poor management and decision making from Joel and Ruth. The only reason my daughter went to MDS for PreK4 was to be in Mrs. Veronica’s class. My daughter specifically asked Ruth on drop off the following week why Mrs. Veronica wasn’t there anymore and Ruth gave no comfort to her, only saying, “You’ll be fine in Ms. Kaysie’s class.”This happened just months after a situation in another class happened where a teacher physically harmed another student, and no notification was sent out about that. They also gave the option for that teacher to stay. Shortly after, Ms. Ginger (previous director) up and retired in the middle of the day on a random weekday. It’s obvious that the leadership skills are lacking and the poor decision making between the school board and “pastor” have led to the current events.I strongly recommend looking elsewhere to send your children. The turnover rate will be high in the coming years, I’m sure.

All 3 of my boys started their education at Methodist Day School, when it was Mothers Day Out. Now I’m a grandmother and great grandmother. None of them live in Angleton, but I wouldn’t hesitate to send them there now because I know they have an excellent director!

I hear really good things about this school. From what I know it's top notch education and teach a good sense of Christian morality.
