Always someone there to help you find what you need. Saved me hours each year. Also it's a more compact layout so you don't walk for miles like the big box stores. So everything you need is probably handy, just ask.

I was trying to figure out how to replace the broken plastic fitting below a toilet, thinking I was going to have to cut the plumbing line. I went to Lake Hardware in Angleton and a tall, thin employee (I didn't catch his name) knew immediately what I needed. It was the Oatey fix-it ring. He solved my problem in 30 seconds and saved me hours of work. Thanks!

Small business are the way to go. Prices can be better, but I understand. The employees would definitely like barcodes versus having to manually enter in each item. It would quicken the checkout process.
