The lady working there is very confused what her job is and what roles needs to be played and evidently they’re very good about charging your credit card $400 cleaning fee for supposedly seeing ashes on a car when I’m not even a smoker

Extremely happy with their fast and friendly service. Returning the vehicle was the easiest and best I've had in a long time. Use to only use Enterprise but ran into problems there. Hertz was exceptional all the way through.

This Amarillo Hertz location has been my go to for business travel over the last couple of years and has never led me astray. Unfortunately, I decided to give Enterprise a shot and it was a huge mistake. Just made me appreciate the awesome staff at Hertz and how warm and friendly they are. Always have a car available when I need it and quick service.

I'm not sure if Hertz needs to be avoided or just this location, but definitely avoid this location.
I was told that by an employee at this location, I'd have faster pickups and fewer fees and even a waived deposit after my first rental with being a gold member, so I signed up. Turns out, none of it was true. There is no point being a member at all unless you rent all the time because it gives you a tiny amount of points you can apply. You still pay all the fees, have to show your ID and card (even after you've been charged, and they have both on file in your profile).
After my most recent rental, I was already kind of annoyed that I got charged all the fees, but they topped it off with unauthorized charges upon returning it. I returned the car about 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday (before my scheduled drop). The lady was busy, and she ended up not giving me a receipt through email like she said. I also checked the app, and it appears it believes my car is still being used by me. So now I'm getting charged, and they are closed. There is no option to even speak to a call service on Sundays, so I will most likely get charged again tomorrow.
It amazes me that they'll think this is fine, just an inconvenience. They'll take $450 from me on a rental that was $50 ish after taxes. How is this legal? Luckily, I'm not, but what if I was down on my luck with no car and scrounged up enough money to go visit my family? Taking another 900% of something that's already been paid for before pickup is CRAZY!

The car stunk from a car freshener and took hours to air out. There was a smoke haze on the windshield. The door frame inside was filthy, which we cleaned for them. We had a flat, which couldn't be repaired. We bought a new tire, and was told the tread wasn't good on any of the tires. Fortunately they rotated the tire for us. We weren't reimbursed anything since we caused the damage. They sent us on a trip with bad tires and got a brand new one. We will not use Hertz again.

Hertz does not follow on their vehicles . Got one with 2 flat tires in 0ne week. In desolate areas. They wanted me to wait in a high crime area till they came. My answer was no thanks I might get robbed. The same tire with chalk marks was aired up 4 times before getting back. It is still on car in lot. Had to rent another car pull off lot flat tire. Don't use Hertz in Alexandria, Louisiana also they are like budget rent a car price are $$$ unless you go through 3rd party.
