Hope you won’t mind a story…. In few words, it was great and Kiennan made it all the better. I came in the day after Carmax’s first offer expired, logistically I couldn’t make it in time. After looking over and test driving my car Kiennan explained the offer would very likely be the same and if it wasn’t, he was gonna make a call. We renewed the data in the system then had a nice visit while waiting for the estimators. When they responded, the offer was the same! My experience at Carmax was very relaxing. In my (and I bet others) world of shopping of any kind, automobiles has to be the worst. Carmax made it as easy and stress-free as a side trip to the grocery store. I took notice of other customer’s dispositions while I was there and they too were smiling faces. Thank you for one of the best spent hours, and especially Kiennan for putting up with my stories!

First they sell the car I reserved to buy, then they sell me a lemon and don't want to cover the issues. From Sales to Service, I've not had a good experience. I've not even had the car for a year and it's been in the shop with Carmax over 3 months to no avail. Now they are telling me its out of warranty on an issue I've had from the beginning and want me to pay for it.
Take your business elsewhere!!!

Poor service department! Poor communication! they think it’s ok to treat their customers like garbage the manager then sat there and defended the employee who had the audacity to yell at me and degrade me! Don’t ever buy a car from here unless you wanna be treated so poorly when you need warranty work done.

Great place to be. We got a good appraisal on our vehicle. Not quite sure what we are going to do yet. Not one pushy person in the place. Very clean and quiet. They let us go on the lot by ourselves, without an annoying salesman thing to get commission on what he wants to sell us vrs. what our needs are. Very good first impressions

Terrible Experience from the beginning when they ran my credit. I was told they would run my credit and give me several options on financing and the inquiries would drop off my credit report within 2 months that is not true. Over a year later I have 6 inquiries on my credit report and they won't drop off for another year. 2 days after my purchase I heard a rattling from the front end Joel the service employee informed me that it needed to be sent out for repairs. The sway bar and both C/V joints were replaced so the vehicle was in need of repairs from the beginning. I was under the impression that all vehicles were checked out before they sold them obviously not true at further inspection discovered that the original air filter was completely clogged and needed replacement also. 3 months after the front end work the front end started rattling again we made an appointment brought the car in and again Joel from the service department inspected it and said something had come loose from the repairs they had done and it was tightened up and should be fine now. 4 months after our purchase my wife had a flat tire while driving with the help of a kind gentleman tried to put on the spare tire and discovered that there were wheel locks installed and Carmax did not supply us with the key when my wife called to inform them of that she was told that there was nothing they could do for her it was out of the warranty period. What a joke. Now roughly 9 months after taking it in for the front end noise it started rattling again the right front tire is worn out and they will not do anything about it in fact they have no record of the visit I made in December for the rattling noise and since no part was ordered it doesn't count as a repair They advertise all repairs are guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles. And according to DiMarco I wasn't there in December until I went back to my Google timeline which records all places visited and I was able to give him date and exact time then he didn't want to speak about it and hung up on me. Stay clear of Carmax there are many places to purchase pre-owned vehicles in Amarillo that are honorable

Went in there with some family to look at cars no pressure sales staff. A little low on their trade and appraisals however. No negotiating pricing is new to me as far as the car business. It's a very different experience but it was a good one.b

Gave them $12,000 cashiers check. Car died just 3 hrs later, and still not fixed 1 wk later but somehow they cannot give me the cash back. Said it went to Virginia and can't get money for 2-3 weeks. Buyer beware!

I want to give a huge shoutout to the CarMax team, especially Joel in Services. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were traveling through Amarillo, and our car, which had been having problems for a while, finally needed serious attention. After multiple trips to various shops, we decided to take it to CarMax (different location) where we originally bought it. Joel and his team quickly diagnosed a failing transmission and arranged a loaner vehicle for us the very same day. Joel coordinated with a third-party shop to handle the repair and kept us updated every step of the way. Being stranded in an unfamiliar place could have been a nightmare, but Joel and the CarMax team made it a manageable experience. Their dedication and excellent customer service were remarkable. I am very thankful to Joel and his team at CarMax in Amarillo for their outstanding support. I can’t thank him enough for everything he has done for us. We can finally get back on the road in time for our next destination. He is highly recommended!

I purchased my car Feb 26, 2024, when I tried to make an online account it wasn’t working due to DOB/SSN/Account #.. I called customer service & they said CarMax had my social off by 1 number, ok cool.. same day I get a call from the Amarillo location that I need to go back to CarMax to “sell” the vehicle and “purchase” it again. Ok, no big deal we went March 16 2024 did the WHOLE process, wasted my Saturday for an inconvenience that the employees have messed up on!! Fast forward to today 4/9/24 I’m having trouble creating the account to stay making payments so I call the customer service line and who would’ve thought, my social is wrong AGAIN. Such an inconvenience and just ridiculous how they gotten my number wrong twice already. Literally the last number they keep getting wrong. Hopefully they can fix it with a picture of my SSC/ID like customer service said to do.

I recently purchased a Mercedes from here and it was the best experience I’ve ever had buying a car. The whole staff is extremely nice and wonderful to work with. I never felt pressured to buy the car and felt I made a good choice. I was also kinda in a rush for a car and they made the whole process extremely easy. I will definitely be back when looking for another car and recommend this place to anyone wanting a new car.
