“Have rented from Van Country a couple times. We have a large family and sometimes need extra space for longer trips. Both have been perfect experiences — easy to work with, fair pricing. The vans are clean and well maintained. Great communication before, during and after the trip. Worked with special requests we had without hesitation. “I have to say that the kind woman behind the counter at this location is extremely sharp. After nine days of not having a rental after a not at fault accident I was starting to get annoyed. As a single mom and business owner this was a huge hit in my daily responsibilities. With in 1 hour of calling this location she called the other parties insurance her self and had me out of there with and upgraded rental. 10 stars for that rental car super hero wish I remembered her name. But Thank You!”

I'm not sure if Hertz needs to be avoided or just this location, but definitely avoid this location.
I was told that by an employee at this location, I'd have faster pickups and fewer fees and even a waived deposit after my first rental with being a gold member, so I signed up. Turns out, none of it was true. There is no point being a member at all unless you rent all the time because it gives you a tiny amount of points you can apply. You still pay all the fees, have to show your ID and card (even after you've been charged, and they have both on file in your profile).
After my most recent rental, I was already kind of annoyed that I got charged all the fees, but they topped it off with unauthorized charges upon returning it. I returned the car about 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday (before my scheduled drop). The lady was busy, and she ended up not giving me a receipt through email like she said. I also checked the app, and it appears it believes my car is still being used by me. So now I'm getting charged, and they are closed. There is no option to even speak to a call service on Sundays, so I will most likely get charged again tomorrow.
It amazes me that they'll think this is fine, just an inconvenience. They'll take $450 from me on a rental that was $50 ish after taxes. How is this legal? Luckily, I'm not, but what if I was down on my luck with no car and scrounged up enough money to go visit my family? Taking another 900% of something that's already been paid for before pickup is CRAZY!”

“The manager Harvey restored my faith in humanity. I did not have my rental with Budget my last trip to Amarillo but I called them instead of my actual rental company (on accident). I had a flat off I-40 right when I was going returning my car and had to board my plane within an hour. Budget answered quickly, transferred to Harvey he was reliable and came to pick me up himself to make sure I made my flight. Even after finding out my business wasn’t with their company he still helped me. I’d leave 100 stars if I could from that experience. I will be using Budget moving forward. Thank you Harvey.”
