Update to my previous post, I dropped the trailing arms off at a shop that works on Corvettes on the North Side of Houston. They told me that the brand new bearings needed to be replaced due to gear Jammin classics so-called 40 year mechanic not using the correct shims. Also the brand new bolts that hold the trailing arms together that were backwards and had to be replaced due to the knurls being messed. It cost me $766.00 to fix what Gear Jammin Classics lied about saying that they could do the work. STAY AWAY FROM Gear Jammin Classics!!!!

James is a great guy but I don’t know how he is still in the classic auto repair business. I took my 57 thunderbird for a fuel pump repair and after 3 weeks he gave me a bill of $1050.00. The pump was $250 but he said he spent several hour diagnosing the issue. The car did not run after the repair so he then said the carburetor was oversized for the engine. He showed me another t-bird that was a 55 with a smaller engine but didn’t realized that they were different. He then proceeded to tell me that I need an electric fuel pump. I knew he didn’t know what he was talking about and called him out. I paid him and towed my car out of their shop. Took it to a great shop in Alvin where they rebuilt the carburetor and is now running like a fine tuned machine for only $200.

James is one of the most knowledgeable guys I know when it comes to restoring classic cars. I went by just to speak with him about a 67 mustang I own and was thinking about restoring it. He took time out of his busy schedule and talked to me for about an hour and gave me a tour of his shop. When it’s time to restore it I will be using them. Thanks

I took my 1969 Torino GT Convertible in to have some major work and updates. The work was performed compared to the work received. I got screwed. I've spent twelve thousand dollars fixing the sub-standard work. The wiring harness was replaced. When driving the car, I could smell the wiring getting hot, almost burning. Where I had it fixed because the brake lights were shorted out, no interior lights, the horn would just start going off whenever, no neutral safety switch. There was not one. Ircuit completed on the new harness. Of course, the harness was for a Mustang. Kwik Wire makes the correct harness for a Torino. The brakes they worked on. Was not even plumbed in to the vacuum assist on the carb. They put a C4 AOD transmission in. Wasn't set up properly. Now that doesn't shift right. The kick down cable was just laying there. There is an attachment that is supposed to be on the carb that links to the kick down cable. There wasn't one installed. They had a rear end built for a Mustang not a Torino. The spring perches are an inch narrower than supposed to be. Had to put offset shackles on because the car wouldn't track straight. They put a Mustang gas tank in the filler neck did not come out all the way. Hard to put fuel in it. The gas cap was half ass put in it wouldn't close. You take off and gas came out the back. I asked James several times where did he get the tank so I could buy the right gas cap. No response. It was $800 dollars to replace with the right tank and cap. The car would get hot and over heat. Had to take the radiator out and have it boiled out. Full of calcium deposit. The carb I had to put two new floats in with less than a thousand miles. I forgot about the wiring. The old wiring was laying in the bottom of the door sills. When they put the radio in it wasn't even wired right. I had to buy a new head unit. The crossovers for my $600 dollar speakers were wired wrong. Had to buy new crossovers. When I got my car back the jack and spare tire were missing. $200 for the correct jack with shipping from Texas and $225 for a spare with rim. So after having the car back for eighteen months I can drive it around without keeping a tow truck on speed dial. I'm not sure how they are still in business or they hired a shade tree mechanic to do the restoration work. Sorry, James but it hurt to even give you one star!!!

If James was as good at fixing old vehicles as he is at talking about fixing them he would be the best.Unfortunately this is not the case.Took him my 53 dodge pickup he had it almost a week and gave me a bill of almost $900.00. $900.00 for not fixing shifting problem, not fixing windshield leak, not fixing gas gauge but he was damn good at putting a radio antenna on, I’m probably the only one driving around with a 900.00 antenna, anyway I sent him a check for a little over $300.00 should of been &50.00.Just look at his response nothing but talk.

I had my 72 chevelle rewired and paid nearly double of most of the quotes i received. I made this decision because they have a strong reputation and I wanted to make sure the job was done correctly. The job was done correctly but the main issue i had was that my car which was running great prior to the job was not getting backfires in the intake. I took the car back and they said it would fix itself when the efi learns to correctly fire. I know it was a lie but didn’t want to argue. That timing problem fixed cost me another 3k at another shop. My biggest issue with this is that... if you recognized a problem that was caused by work i paid you to do then fix the problem. I personally would bot recommend this shop because they are far over priced for the type of service you may receive.

Spent 22k at this place to restore engine bay and add aluminum heads for HP. What a bad experience. Buying new engine on their recommendations. Car overheating drive home from shop. Second drive home, distributor backs off. I had to pay to get back to shop. Oil stick cut in half? Drill 6 large hole in air core of designed for cooling. Took out cooler for transmission and lock out for transmission, all without telling you about. Tachometer was off because it needed an adapter. Did not know why it was off. 2 Mechanics left to another shop during rebuild. And two many stories there on what happened. Pretty cars in shop, alot more to this story. Just stay away. Positive was nice bookkeeper!
