It takes a lot for me to give a 1-star review. We had a horrible customer experience here at the Bayou Wildlife Zoo today. They would not honor an $80 gift card purchased by my kid’s grandparents for their birthday. They admitted having a hard time verifying gift cards recently and still would not honor it.They acted like it was our fault for not having the receipt (I’m not going to call and bother 80 year old senior citizens for a receipt from a purchase months ago).If a business is having issues verifying gift cards, then they should stop selling them and honor the ones already given out.I’m willing to modify my review if the owner/manager reaches out to refund our $80.

Very friendly staff and the cleanest safari/petting zoo we have ever visited! Definitely coming back when we visit the area. What a gem!

The price was a bit high for what is available. It comes with a 30 minute ride to see deer, zebra, water buffalo, bison, cattle, ostriches and emus, and two camels. There is an area to walk around that has lemurs, pigs, and a few other farm animals. They do have two giraffes, a few kangaroo, and a couple foxes. We went during spring break and did have to wait 3 hours for the ride. Tickets cannot be purchased online.

The line was not long and not a wait at all for the tram ride. However the buckets of food, one used to come free with your ticket and were $2 extra per bucket and they were bigger buckets of food. They now cost $5 for much smaller buckets and we used to go through at least 2 buckets each, so I bought extra thinking we would use them. But this time they hardly stopped at all and not nearly long enough so the animals didn't get to eat. Still love the place, and don't really mind paying for the food, but would have been nice if they would stop long enough for the animals to get to eat instead of throwing out at the end. I ended up giving the tram driver a whole bucket of food for him to use his next trip out.

Will never go back, waste of time, money ect. They told my 3 year old daughter she couldn't ride the tran because I didn't "pay in advance" I waited 2 hours with my son for his field trip and the manager said because I has been there for 2 hours she wouldn't refund me. Will neverrrrrr go back. Place was a joke anyways. Disgusting and ran down.

The zoo was a good experience for my toddler because she got to feed the big birds and cows, other than that it’s really not worth the price. $15 for child, $30 for adult, plus $5 for each feed. This is our second time going. Each time it gets boring, only close interaction is big birds and cows, a buffalo once. They have giraffe, zebras but no interaction. There is a few other small animals to look at but nothing amazing.

Worst experience ever! We called and made sure they are open. We drove 1hr to get there and when we got there they said they closed early, over the phone they said they only close at 4pm and they closed at 2pm.I asked them why didn't u tell me over the phone when I asked, they were asking me who I spoke with and all when they knew it was their fault. I asked them if I could at least walk around with my kids to see the animals for few minutes and they said no, that I had to leave right away. My kids were crying for they were so excited to see the animals and when we got there this happened. If I could give them no star that's what I would have given them. At least they could have said we will give you free tickets or something for us driving that long to get there, instead they just shoved us away. Worst experience ever! ?

Went this Saturday & they open at 10am, no wait time. Tickets are bought on the site & we paid with a credit card. The guides are friendly & before you set off on the "safari" ride, they will brief you on how to interact with the animals & how to hold the feed bucket so you don't lose your fingers to the animals. They tell you to expect a bumpy tour ride due to the terrain & you might get some mud on you depending on the animals that run up beside you on the ride.Wear boots or your old trainers because some paths have animal droppings & can be muddy, especially if it rained. This is a very kid & family-friendly "safari" activity & we'll be sure to go back.

I'm sad that I don't get to pet the whitetail bucks anymore. That was my favorite thing about coming here. Still a great zoo. We still got to feed, and pet, a lot of cool animals.

Great place to have a fun family day. We went on a Saturday with no wait time to purchase tickets. You have to purchase tickets at the location as they don't offer advance ticket purchases on their website. Adult ticket cost $23.53 and children cost $14.12. You have the option to take a safari ride which is included with your Adult ticket purchase and the option to purchase feed buckets to feed the animals which cost $5 each. Since we went in the month of October they also have a mini haunted house to visit which was $4.69 each person. The assortment of animals is amazing and all run free. They have a petting zoo which you can pet goats, baby cows and piglets. They have a mini store to purchase snacks, drinks and souvenirs. They welcome bringing your own drinks in if you like. They No longer offer pony rides. The safari ride lasts 30 minutes and is alot of fun for everyone. The small haunted house was great and kid friendly, not super scary at all. The have covered tables to sit and wait for your safari ride and I suggest signing up for the safari ride as soon as you get there since they are only 3 trailers to take groups and the wait can be long depending on how busy they are. I waited 1 hour for my safari ride.

They got my last review removed! But this one I will be plain ! Do not wait for money ! Do not waist your time ! The bathroom is very gross and hot ! That animals (the ones that are visible ) and nothing but everyday deer and I didn't see any zebras ! I'm sad that this place was such a waist of time money and energy! Still draining my energy because they keep taking down my review! Hope this helps on your choice to take your family here !

Took my family here earlier this month and the experience was one to remember! Great tour guide! He was very friendly and fun. He knew all about the animals, told us their cute names & really was sure to educate us on the specific nature of each animal. The petting zoo was also a very nice experience. My children got to pet & brush the goats. They fell in love with the animals and so did my husband and I! We will definitely be back soon!

Great place to take the kiddos! They have a tram so you don't have to walk around. Buckets to feed the animals are $5

My review would be 4.5 stars if I could. It's a neat place that you get right up with the animals while riding a trailer pulled behind a jeep. It allows you to get right next to these animals that are used to people and feed them. What wasn't nice was how hot the staging area was, where you wait for the next ride to come back around; so be mindful that you will most likely stand around for 20-30 minutes waiting for the next ride and it's not cooled under the barn. The other negative bit is my wife and I brought our infant son and had him in his Doona (car seat that turns into a stroller) and no one mentioned that we would have to leave the stroller at the barn until we went to get in the trailer for the ride around. Also, no one told us it would be a little rougher until after we got on the trailer so my wife was holding our son while we went down and up dips, over cattle guards and through some bumpy areas. Besides those couple things, we will definitely be back when our son is a little older. I also feel it's a little pricey for what it is, $25 per person for 1 ride around, but it is a cool experience.
