I could easily spend $1000 bucks in this place in a short period of time!! There are so many unique items. I have always shopped downtown McKinney for boutique type items, but found SampleHouse when I moved to Allen last year. It smells good, it is well stocked and the staff members are friendly. I like that it is a mom and pop company. Some things are pricey, but the quality you get makes paying a tiny bit more worth it.

Stopped by here on my way to visit a friend to get her a quick gift. Arrived a few minutes before their closing time and their doors were already locked. It would’ve taken me two minutes to get what I needed and head out.The lady at the register could see me at the door but waited until 6 on the dot to come to the door only to tell me they were already closed.It is apparent that the owners are not reading these reviews. Their staff is costing them sales. Not only did I not buy anything that day but I also won’t be coming back.

Clare Eoff and Hannah Selby are very good workers and made me feel right at home! Wide variety of items for any of ur house needs. And the price is unmatched! Would recommend!

I didn't like how the employee made me feel. Took a bit of time to be greeted and then she seemed to come to the back where my fiance and I were like she was making sure we didn't steal something. I've been black all my life and I know when someone is profiling me. She pretended to be looking at the jars of sauce...not once asking if we needed help finding anything. We left. I haven't had this happen in a really long time. It's ok...you don't have to worry about me coming back.

There’s just so much to look at here!! From clothes to decor to home goods to (of course) candles, this place has got a fun assortment of it all.I came in knowing exactly what I wanted- a beautiful sweatshirt with “festive” emblazoned across the front in terrycloth letter patches. I saw it originally at the Dallas location and I was so excited that they had it here. I did have help in the store as someone had to help me find it. They also have a little fitting room tucked away.I could have spent much longer here, but I left with my wallet intact, and only purchased the sweater. The staff was very polite and helpful.

The store has wonderful and unique items but we walked in and the staff members were having their own conversations and never once spoke to us which makes me not want to purchase anything from them. Very rude at least I think. Nothing said to us the entire time!!!

Store is beautiful but the staff is rude. I do my best to support small businesses but not bad customer service. Middle aged female staff was too busy gossiping with younger female staff the entire time I was there, and she never bothered acknowledging my presence. But she seemed to say “hello” and “goodbye” to every Caucasian person that walked in (about 6 people). I was going to buy candles and home decor but decided to take my business elsewhere as I didn’t feel welcomed. “Big mistake. Big. Huge!”

As a loyal customer for over 20 years, I've always enjoyed the unique gift selection at Sample House and friendliness of the staff. I've shopped at many of the locations and always marveled at the sweet care the sales associates exhibited and usually walked out with more than I planned for because of the positive experiences. Today was a big exception. Not one associate (out of three) greeted me when I walked in, no one offered to help, and when I checked out there was no word of appreciation. It was cold. In fact, one woman glared at me without a word or smile- twice! I felt like I had walked in on a high school click. Mary, these employees need some basic sales training.

Absolutely Love the store but too bad that the two employees working today (6/10 4:35pm) couldn’t be bothered to stop gossiping and acknowledge our presence much less ask if they could help us in any way. I chose not to purchase anything and went to Hallmark where I was greeted, assisted and where I ended up spending money.
