Complex is clean and organized, staff does a great job at ensuring its maintenance regularly. Zen is so nice and makes sure you’re heard and taken care of in a timely manner! The second floor is my absolute favorite, 10/10

A historic building situated in the heart of downtown (up & coming) Abilene, The Windsor Hotel & Apartments, is without a doubt a stunning, rare find of a place! I made it my home beginning of 2023, and since then I’ve only had great & memorable experiences, which couldn’t have been possible without the amazing & diverse group of people I’ve met during my stay there.
All the Windsor staff, vendors, and the community, helped create a welcoming & tranquil space that always felt like home! With very polite, professional, & most importantly empathetic staff, at no point was there ever a time where I felt I couldn’t reach out to address any issues and/or concerns.
All-in-all, the Windsor truly remains a hidden gem within Abilene, and personally, a cherished spot I won’t forget!

This is one of my favorite spots in Abilene. The staff is very friendly and the building and decor is great. Love that you can have a drink at the Pour House and enjoy some delicious sandwiches at Sway.

The only positive aspect of this place is the gym on the second floor, but that requires an extra fee. My experience with the front desk was disappointing; the staff member was rude and unprofessional when I initially tried to schedule a tour. She said, 'I have a full schedule and need to know for sure,' and when I arrived, it took her 30 minutes to meet me. She then made a passive-aggressive comment, saying, 'Normally, people tell me 30 minutes in advance that they’re coming, so I did errands.' She never sent me a message to confirm our meeting. You're not the only one with a busy schedule. The apartment itself is outdated and stuffy, with bathtubs that are in desperate need of replacement. Additionally, there's no dishwasher and no cabinets in the kitchen.

Love the staff here, they really do take the time... day or night to care of any needs. Zen goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken of.

Don't park in the wrong spot! I signed a one year contract and I had a designated parking spot. But an old black jeep was always in my spot, I would tell the building manager and get a "I'm on it" from her. Nothing happened until the owner of the jeep finally was moving his vehicle as I was outside. I gave him a look and got in my SUV and drove away. We'll, ol Ms Jeep didn't like my look and chased me three blocks in said jeep to ask "what my deal was". Of course having my firearm ready I was happy to answer his question. Surprisingly he left in a hurry and continued to follow me four more blocks. Come to find out it was the owner! From New York, he thought it was okay to chase people down and harass them in the middle of the road at a stop light. I was told to leave (happily) and it took three months to receive my deposit back.

our favorite place we have lived yet! Which we could stay there forever! Zen the property manager is the best and it’s like a little family in the building! There is a lot to do as well like the bar and coffee shop! Will always recommend forever!

The Windsor has been a great place to live. Zen is essential and truly makes this place a home. Very grateful to have stayed here for the past year. Will miss this place a ton!

Just renewed my lease for another year!
This has to be one of the best apartments I’ve had the pleasure of living in.
The location is unbeatable, the pricing is reasonable, and the regular improvements to the already breathtaking interior is a testament to Horatio’s care and passion for this historical landmark.
Zen is a rockstar and consistently makes the tenants experience a priority. Thyrone is one of the most responsive, knowledgeable and helpful maintenance staff members I’ve ever met.
If you’re looking for a place where the neighbors are friendly, the community looks out for each other, and service is second to none, I highly recommend considering The Windsor for your next move!

Seems like it would be a really nice place to live however, you can’t even stop by and look at an apartment or rent an apartment site unseen, and there are no pictures to even see what the apartments look like. Trying to move to Abilene from out town is difficult enough without a place making it even more difficult., There is a reason why this place has availability. I’m in town only for 24 hours and they were unwilling to help.

BE WARNED: Very UNPROFESSIONAL and conniving owner. Horacio doesn’t care about his tenants. He will find any reason to terminate your lease without warning. I was a resident at Windsor for 3 years until Horacio decided I didn’t fit the mold of the tenants he would like at the Windsor because I am a leader. Before Horacio and his entourage came from Los Angeles and bought the Windsor, it was a very quiet, peaceful place to live. Many of the tenants at the time were elderly and had been at the Windsor for decades. It broke my heart to see their leases terminated upon Horacio’s arrival. Windsor had a nice elegant Ballroom for special events, weddings, parties, which has now been turned into a sweaty gym? I can’t even begin to fathom the thought process here. The Windsor was a historical landmark that has now been “modernized” - with a bunch of ugly green paint and plants cluttering the once elegant, spacious lobby. OVERPRICED. It’s Abilene not Los Angeles.

Do not waste your time with the apartment complex. It is time for Zen the (manager) to move on. I am currently down at the border for the guard and have tried constantly to be in touch with her about the end of my lease. No answer. Going back 4 months. But when I use the lobby elevator to allow my finance to move my stuff, she threatens her by calling the police. This is unacceptable and rediculous.

Beautiful edifice with gorgeous architecture. I am not a resident but I have been a patron of businesses located within the building.

I’ve been with The Windsor since the beginning of its renovation and couldn’t possibly say enough great things about it. The history; the look and feel when you come in is huge…as are the owners and employees. The attention to detail and storefronts within are a great added bonus. Abilene is lucky to have this downtown gem - whether you’re looking for a really cool apartment, outfit, wine bar, etc. - they’ve got ya covered.
