Atrocious. Ive had coverage through their office for several years and when I had to file a claim I quickly discovered I did not have the coverage I requested. John assured me my home policy was replacement cost front to back. The carrier informed me that was false. I recently discovered that when I told John I was aware he'd misrepresented the policy he added additional coverage, even though I ask to switch to another carrier, without my knowledge causing MUCH confusion. It is obvious he became aware right then of the problem his carelessness had caused and said NOTHING. He quietly tried to COVER HIS TRACKS. He also swore up and down he would "go to bat" to get the rest of our payout, but he NEVER admitted to, or took responsibility for, what he had done.. We were left facing thousands in repairs with a check for just HALF of their expense. I cannot tell you how deeply this mans negligence has impacted my family.Things got worse when I ask him to switch us to a new carrier because I was unhappy with the payout. I repeatedly ask if switching would cause any issues because of the pending hail claim. He assured me it was "no problem". It was. It was a BIG problem. The new carrier stated that he did not disclose the house was still in need of repair and that they would be dropping the policy in an unreasonable time frame that my contractor could not adhere to. It is likely that my home insurance will lapse because of John.They allowed my auto policy to lapse because they failed to provide documentation requested by underwriting and stated they allegedly contacted the carrier asking what was needed. I called them myself after the fact and they stated he'd never called or even asked about a cancelation, just policy documentation. We followed all of johns instructions and the policy still canceled because they did not tell us additional documentation was being requested by underwriting.Finally communication was abhorrent. Johns voicemail is ALWAYS full.. that should be a red flag. I wouldn't doubt those voicemails are from angry clients. It always took multiple call requests to get an answer from anyone over the course of days even in cases where time was of the essence. He continually passed off communication to his manager once I discovered he misrepresented the policy, when I had spoken to him exclusively for 6 years, without properly informing her of what was going on. It was unbelievably unprofessional. I would have to spend enormous amounts of time trying to get them on the same page. I firmly believe his office staff was instructed to always tell me he was out of the office.John and his staff are clearly incompetent. I would advise that you RUN from this agency. They are unbelievably dishonest and lackadaisical with such important coverage. When your policy doesn't pay out the way John said it would they will blow smoke but actually accomplish absolutely nothing.

All the positive reviews I’ve read about Tatum Insurance were accurate. Mr.John was a great help on finding me the right insurance for my home. He got back to me very fast, and went above and beyond to explain my coverage. Thank you again for being one of the best, and honest insurance in the area.

We moved to Abilene about six years ago. I searched for affordable insurance and I feel so fortunate to be referred to Tatum. John works very hard to make sure we have the most affordable and reliable insurance in this area. He is honest and always available, no matter what time of day or what day of the week. He definitely runs a five star business.

I have been working with John for going on 2 years now. He has been fantastic to work with. Always finds a way to get me exactly what I am looking for at best costs possible. He has never tried to upsell me or get me anything that I didn't need. He is a straight shooter and the best insurance agent I have ever had. He is incredibly responsive and will do everything possible to resolve issues if they come up.

Response to your comment below: I have been emailing you since Thursday with no response. I now have both vehicles listed on my policy. How can you make this right if you do not respond to my emails? I'm unable to call while I'm at work.I traded my vehicle in late last year. Requested John to update my auto insurance with my new vehicle in December 2021. Received a policy renewal email in June for no old vehicle that I no longer owned. When brought to John's attention, he assured me it was correct, then had a new policy for the correct vehicle sent to me that showed it was addressed 6/29/2022, then I was charged the full 6 months. Now I have received another charge. John claims he didn't know I was to be charged and hasn't responded to me in days. I understand there's a holiday in two days, but I'm with $800 that I need to pay other bills. Do not recommend this company as there is no transparency or proper followup. Highly disappointed and trying to figure out how to pay my mortgage.
