The prices they charge for simple bloodwork are extortion. I called no less than three times to ask my doctor’s staff if I could get orders to go somewhere else. I was told no, they only dealt with Hendrick labs. So I went I got a $4600 bill for $500 worth of bloodwork.

I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety attacks and i had to leave a lab sample there and i went there Super Nervous and the lab waiting area was empty and i was the only one there waiting for one minute when i got called and i was seen by the Super Sweet Receptionists and they calm me down and i guess they could tell that i was extremely nervous and they made me feel at ease. They told me about their day and little of their lives and we had laughs and i forgot about my nervousness. I was seen very quickly by the Staff and the Staff was also kind and i will always go there for my lab work. The Staff and the Receptionists named Rhonda and Xena gets my 5 Stars ? ? ? ? ???

i am giving 2 just because the admission staff is only good mannered person i met in this lab. Being in healthcare requires knowledge and compassion, the lab tech assigned to me 4/11/23 lack both. If the patient is verbalizing pain more than expected do not be RUDE and apologize!

Took my daughter with special needs for blood to be drawn. The woman missed my daughters vein and began to dig around. She tried two vials that only had a trickle of blood. Then tried adjusting needle again, still poor return. She became frustrated and her demeanor was abrasive. ( Not the experience you want for your child.) They trashed the first two vials then started a third. Still just a trickle. She stood there and let it slowly give minimal return. For this extended period of time the tight tourniquet was still on my daughters arm which was very uncomfortable. When I addressed it. She continued with what she was doing with out response.(Ignoring me!) When she finally finished I ask her name because I did not want her to ever touch my daughter again. Empathy and compassion for patient was void. I Left with decision to never go to this Lab again. Fast forward to today. Lab called for redraw because “not a surprise” the sample couldn’t be used. I ask if they could send order to another lab because of l experience which I explained. They said “No” it had to be drawn at same lab. I said I didn’t want same woman. I was told to request a certain person and that she would take care of us, was assured she was a trainer. Communicated my mother would bring her as I was at work but I would tell her to ask for person they suggested. My mother arrived and asked for the person we were instructed to ask for. My mother said a woman said she was the equivalent of the person she was requesting and would do the draw. Then while my mother was back there she started to help assist hold my daughters arm still. ( My daughter is 40 years old but very petite and developmentally 2 . She is very good for procedures and still, yet we have always been at her side just in case and to reassure her when she is with strangers.) When my mother went to be at her side and hold her arm still she was instructed rudely by the 2nd person( the one we had been told to ask for) that she would be holding her arm and not my mother. My mother complied. My mom then said “She’s good she won’t move.” Then this woman said rudely “I can assure you she won’t.” So in conclusion, two very negative experiences. We will not return to this specific lab, and I do not recommend it for others. Courtesy, the ability to listen and understand while entertaining the idea that 40 years of taking care of our girl has taught us a lot about her specifically. First, do not discount the value of family members and the added information they can provide. Second do everything with compassion, kindness and as if you were the person being treated. Anything less is unacceptable.

The wait is excruciating and after a couple of visits, I dread having to come back. Hey never seem to be able to handle the flow of inbound people. Maybe there’s a there is party service Hendrick could use.

Took a little while to call me to the back for my lab draw, but there were several people in front of me. Once they called my name, things went fast. They were quick and almost painless. They dont do co-pays either.

I have to get blood tests. ALOT. So, I have been to every place in town. The people at this spot are quick, helpful, and professional. I’m grateful to have such a place in Abilene!

I rarely write a review but I fell this needs to be out there. I had United healthcare at the time. Had I known they weren't fond of this insurance I would have gone elsewhere. $3,000 dollars later which my insurance covered $2,000 I'm left with $1,000 dollar lab work. I called them cause I was sure there had to be a coding issue. No coding issues. They refused any attempt I made to come to a compromise in the matter. I'm putting this out that it may help others make a informed decision before getting taken to the cleaners

This is the first review I have ever left for anything, but one that needs to be written. My wife had blood drawn for just one simple test that at any other lab would cost $50-$100, but we went to Hendrick because it was conveniently located downstairs from her doctor. Hendrick charged us $863 for this one test. Unbelievable! Our insurance covered half of the cost, but now we are stuck with a bill of over $400 for a test that runs for under $100 anywhere else.If you have the choice, go somewhere else in Abilene to save some money.*I understand that insurances differ on the amount they pay out, so your experience may be better, but you should definitely check ahead of time to make sure*

Staff is superb. They are very professional and very safe. Cleanliness is top priority as well as the protocol, questioning, and steps to get the blood. Last but not least, the stick is NOT painful. It is great and it is set correctly to get your blood. Refreshments and rest is provided until you are ready to go. I highly recommend this group of professionals for your blood donation. Best anywhere in Central Texas!!
