I've purchased several firearms from James, and he's very knowledgeable and professional. His prices on ammo are fair and competitive. He doesn't try to steer you away from what you want but will offer his professional opinion, and he will go out of his way to see that you are satisfied. James is my go-to guy, and I won't deal with anyone else.

Truly a great shop and mr. Howell is one of the best humans I have the pleasure of knowing. Will work with you to make sure you’re taken care of. It’s a small shop with the inventory to challenge the biggest! If you try calling you may have to try a couple times as it’s a small shop and swamped with locals who are in the know all day! It’s worth the drive just to see what’s available! Favorite gun shop east of the divide!

Have purchased several firearms as well as ammo and accessories from Buffalo Mountain Outdoors. After reading the negative reviews left on here I decided to post one of my own. Mr. Howell was very sick for many years battling cancer. Despite being sick from the treatment and often in pain from the cancer he constantly worried about his loyal customers. They have a great selection, the best prices, and loyalty to there customers/friends that you never find at a big box store or sporting good chain. Would recommend and will shop again!

This is sort of an exclusive gun shop. Mr. Howell is one of the finest men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing!! He cares more about running a shop that does a service for people than he does being an entrepreneur and his bottom dollar and although he doesn't have a set schedule, if he knows you and likes you he'll have the doors open for you furthermore he's the best man to do business with in the ENTIRE region, and unlike every other place, he treats every customer the same whether you're in there to buy a few .22 rounds or you're buying the most expensive weapon in the store he treats everyone as a valued customer I really like this man! And oh yeah I almost forgot he has the best prices on everything some of it seems unbelievable but he doesn't jack the price up another 25% like every other gun shop in this area,

Don’t bother calling this place. Called from several miles away looking for specific shotshell ammunition. He didn’t even want to hear or answer my question. I guess expecting me to drive 30 miles to ask the question. Clearly doesn’t need my business.
