The hours of operation are only 10-2 for 3 days a week. The working family cannot make it in those hours to look at the dogs for possible adoption. The fee also went from $35 to $100, which also makes it harder for some to be able to adopt. I would not be surprised if they must put dogs down due to these things stated here. I hope changes can be made with the operating hours and possible for those with lower incomes to be able to adopt for a discounted fee. Just my thoughts and sad I will have to look elsewhere due to the hours of operation.

My husband and I came into the shelter to look at several dogs. There is a book to look through to pick who you'd like to meet one-on-one. It was quick and easy, and we got to meet so many sweet pooches! We cant wait to adopt very soon!!

I stopped by the animal shelter to drop off a little dog that I found on Riley Creek Rd dragging a chain. They told me that they had no room. I knew that someone would be looking for him & I live in Kentucky (4 1/2 hrs away). They still refused to help. I found the owner on Facebook after arriving home in Kentucky. They had gone to the shelter right after I left & was told that I was taking it to another state. I had to drive 8hrs round trip to return the dog to its owner the next day. I would make a suggestion to the shelter to keep a portable kennel in the office for such situations. I also checked with a couple of vet offices in Tullahoma & they refused to hold the dog. SMH!

Friendly, compassionate and professional people work here. Love all the animals that they work with. True dedication to not only helping lost pets but also those who's owners pass.

These folks are top-notch professionals! They have a very hard and heartfelt job and still maintain kindness and compassion. They're being inundated by people dumping their pets out to fend for their self. My heart goes out to them

Why are they called "animal shelter" and not "dog shelter". They only deal with dogs.
Idk anything about them other than that.
I assume they work hard to help them get adopted but yet again I just want to point out its not an "animal shelter" its a "dog shelter"

The staff at the shelter are wonderful! We adopted Arnold (heart-worm positive) and they provided us with his heart-worm treatment meds at the time of adoption so we would not have to drive 1.5 hours every 3 weeks to get it. Arnold has so much personality and we love him big time! He is now thriving in our home and we are so grateful we were allowed to adopt him. Thank you so much!
