Pet Care
Townsend Animal Clinic, LLC
7522 E Lamar Alexander Pkwy, TownsendThis is a top notch clinic. Everyone there is professional, kind and very knowledgeable. We recently had to put our elderly cat down and they were so kind to us. They made sure we had extra time with her and didn't rush us one bit. Our tech Alex was phenomenal. We can't thank her enough for getting us through this. She was so kind to us. I highly recommend this wonderful place for your pets.

Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro
137 Apple Valley Way, TownsendWe visited for the first time last weekend to celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary and it was such a treat. This place has hospitality down to a science - the warm, welcoming fireplace, the impeccable service (thank you, Aileen!), and the thoughtful, delicious food. The pork chop was the best I've ever had. Scallops were perfectly cooked. The seasonal cobbler and butterscotch brulee were delicious. We can't wait to visit again.

Dancing Bear Lodge Townsend
7140 E Lamar Alexander Pkwy, TownsendMy wife and I stayed at Dancing Bear Lodge this past weekend for the first time. We had an amazing experience. The accommodations and the staff are the highest quality. We highly recommend!
Rooms: Check-in was easy. Our cabin, Sugarlands 1, was immaculate and comfortable. There was a nice welcome basket when we arrived. The room had a full kitchen with a coffee maker, stove, stovetop, microwave, and refrigerator. There was delicious in room ground coffee from the Dancing Bean Coffee House.
Nearby activities: The Dancing Bear in Townsend is close to the entrance to Smoky Mountain NP and multiple excellent hiking trails. There is a nice, safe five mile paved bike and walking path in front of the Dancing Bear Lodge complex. The Foothills Parkway is nearby and is a beautiful drive. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are about 40 minutes away for a different type of experience.
Food and drinks: We had dinner at the Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro. The accolades the Bistro has received are well deserved. The staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive. My wife appreciated the extensive wines available. I had the stout beer from The Peaceful Side Brewery which was very good. The salads were inventive and flavorful. We both ordered the delicious Appalachian Bouillabaisse. Outstanding!
The Dancing Bear has a complimentary breakfast. We had delicious coffee lattes and fresh pastries at the Dancing Bean Coffee House one morning, and pancakes and eggs at the Apple Valley Cafe on the second morning.
We also had lunch at the nearby Peaceful Side Social, which we highly recommend.

Good Vibes On the River
7613 Old TN-73, TownsendBeing a big breakfast fan it is tough to find somewhere up to my standards. Stopped in before golfing with the wife. I had the country fried steak and eggs, she went with the loaded potatoes bowl with bacon and gravy on the side. The food and service was everything you would expect. Both meals were amazing. Don't think there is anything you could go wrong with on the menu. Highly recommend trying the gravy and fried potatoes at least. The wife was pleased with the tea selections. She ordered hot tea and they brought a cup with multiple options. I went with the cranberry juice but pretty sure it was fruit punch. It was still good but not what I want at breakfast. I will blame this on it being out of season and not having cranberry juice available. Great food, friendly staff and beautiful view. Give it a try yourself and see.
