We haven't lived in this town very long but we have had good reasons to visit Yates several times. We have always found them to be very friendly and helpful. Granted....they don't carry a huge inventory; however, in a town this small, it would be hard to carry everything that they think people might need. They do carry a good inventory of the basic household needs. If they don't have it, they are helpful in giving suggestions on where the item might be found.

Nice home town hardware store. Great staff with great service. Would recommend anyone that finds themselves in the Lake County area to stop by for all their hardware needs. Also if your in need for a culvert Yates and Sons sales and delivers those as well.

This is a very cruel town. The owner who is on the county board, is arrogant greedy, cruel, and building a shrine to himself in a community where basic services, like ambulance service is third world. He is on the board to make sure he pays little to no taxes, not for the community. When he is in his business, he is arrogant, cold and rude. This town is dying, he is a huge part of why.

A nice little mom and pop hardware store locally owned. I try to frequent the store whenever I can versus going to Lowe’s as I want to support my local businesses. Shopping here makes me feel as though my money is staying in the Lake County area. The owner is nice, and the employees are very willing to help the customer find what they need. You would be surprised at how much stuff they really have in this little hardware store.Of course, it is not a Lowe’s nor a Home Depot, and never will be, but I can find most things that I need at this particular store without having to drive all the way to Dyersburg. I’m very appreciative of this store and I prefer it to the big box stores. There simply is not any replacement for small town customer service, and the fellows at this particular store go out of their way to make sure that you are happy and satisfied.Several months back, I purchased two items that did not come to a total of five dollars, and I didn’t have cash on me, but I had a debit card. The owner advised me that he really didn’t want to do the transaction with a debit card for that amount as the fees for processing the debit card basically cost him money at that low of a price… I believe my purchase came to three dollars and some odd cents, so he allowed me to walk out of the store with the two items without paying, and he stated that next time I was in the store, that I could make good on that particular purchase. He doesn’t know me from Adam, but that kind gesture on his part showed me what type of individual he was. Needless to say, once I left the hardware store, I went over to Dollar General across the street and got money and immediately went back and paid for the items with a little extra for the cash register till. It’s the small things that really make the difference in a customers experience, and I will patronize this business with all of my loyalty in the future.
