Deerrun gets 2 stars because my daughter made it through alive and had a fun adventure. The camp counselors had generally good attitudes so this is valuable.There’s no way, however my child would go back to this camp. All the “Bunk Notes” I wrote to my child, and ones she wrote to me were not delivered. The system failed. I couldn’t communicate with my daughter the whole time. Also, the faculty wouldn’t accept responsibility for this.The food was of low quality. My daughter spoke about how kids could go and buy as much candy as they liked, and did just that. Thankfully, my child is educated on the detriment of these behaviors and didn’t partake in this indulgence.On top of all this, she told me her roof was leaking and half of her bed was wet all week.This isn’t an environment for children to learn healthy habits.

Our team did an offsite corporate meeting at the Deer Run Summit location. Our experience was superb. They took care of every detail. The communication was excellent and Callie was amazing.

We hosted the 2023 Honors First-Year Orientation Retreat (H4) for the Mahurin Honors College at WKU at Deer Run, and it was a success! Even in the face of every curveball--transportation hang-ups, delayed arrival times, changed plans, and weather adjustments--their team was accommodating, patient, and helpful. It's a phenomenal facility, catering to both the summer camp and rural getaway guest more than adequately. I would highly recommend to any group seeking engaging shared experiences, from a smaller group that can take over the Lodge to several hundred taking over the whole camp (like us!)

I come here every summer for a week, and may I say, IT IS FUN! They have a water slide, zip lines, and SO much to do. Great place :)

Deer Run has been a valuable partner for us! Alexis cared for the needs of our group from registration to check-out. They even helped us keep the price in our price range and were flexible to the special needs of our group. We will be back!

This was our daughter's first year at Deer Run. She's 9 and has never attended any sort of camp so she was very nervous. She has had the best experience ever! She's gone for the past two weeks and every day is her favorite day. :) The counselors and bus driver have been so kind, caring and fun. I've already signed her up for 2024! Aubrey and Alexis on the administration side have been so incredibly helpful with any questions I've had, my registration process, funding, etc. We can't wait to be back and experience other retreat offerings in the future. I wish I could go to summer camp at Deer Run!

We have taken our youth group to Deer Run multiple times now. Could not ask for a better place to stay. Top notch staff, amazing facilities, and just a great atmosphere. If you're looking for a place to take a group, I highly recommend Deer Run.

We love Deer Run. This was the second time taking a group of Students for a camp/retreat we were putting on. The entire staff was so helpful from booking until we left. The facilities are some of the best I’ve seen at a camp and the food was great. We will definitely be coming back.

We absolutely love Deer Run!! We have sent our daughter for various summer camps for years. We can’t recommend them highly enough. They handle her allergies extremely well, all of the staff are incredibly kind, patient, caring, attentive, intentional, and just plain awesome. We are even looking at doing the family camp soon. They offer so much to do all while helping grow in faith. My husband and daughter also participate in their father/ daughter activities. We all enjoy the family days, and whatever else we can do. Great facilities and even better people. And they are always adding new things. My daughter loves that! She looks forward to camp every year!! Thank you Deer Run for all you do!!!

My daughter applied to be a counselor and even a volunteer and no one ever even got back to her. Really? Is this how we are supposed to treat people? At least have the common courtesy to respond to a very kind teenager.

All three of my children attended both day and overnight camp. It was an incredible experience for all of them. The staff is top notch and really cares about the campers. Highly recommended.
