Update on last review.....so after my previous experience with getting shorted on minnows, I went in today to get minnows. As I was explaining to the man helping me to please not short me again, a lady stepped around the corner and asked me my name. Reluctantly I told her my name. Her reaction was completely different than what I was expecting. After talking with Ms. Kathy, I was informed that the 6 dozen minnows today were on her. I definitely didnt expect to get a freebie today as I was prepared to pay for my purchase Ms. Kathy has expressed deep condolences as to my previous experience and assured it wouldn't happen again! You just cant make this stuff up in a small town like Springfield! This was actually a HUGE gesture of kindness that I really needed today because of personal reasons. Just shows that a bad experience be fixed when there's people out there like Ms. KATHY to make it her personal mission to make things right when her store isn't firing on all cylinders. I sat a few minutes and we exchanged some friendly conversation before I went on my way. Needless to say, I wont be driving all the way out to old hickory to purchase my minnows again! Big shout out to the beautiful few who remind me that small town livin is the best livin! I'm keeping the old review under this one because I think it's important for people to see a perfect example of how to keep a returning customer. Somebody give Ms. Kathy a raise already!!
Last 2 times I bought minnows here I have been ripped off. Today I went to buy 7 dozen minnows to feed my fish and even stated that I don't want dead minnows. After dumping them in my fish tank I realized I was shorted atleast 35 minnows. That's unacceptable for me considering I paid $20 for these and specifically sought a certain count. Had atleast 10 deads in the batch. Do better guys, I work hard for my money and don't appreciate being robbed!!!!

Didn't have all the parts I needed.
Gutter drain connections and non-perforated pipe.
The staff tried to find the fittings but had to go to Lowes.

I purchased a Door Draft Stopper to keep my apartment cooler and keep insects out. Purchased in White House and they were so helpful and kind in White House and said if it didn't work I could return at any location with a receipt. Unfortunately it didn't work so I immediately returned it at the Springfield Tn location . I paid $17.99 + tax when purchased but Ace in Springfield would only give me $16.99 plus tax, I said ok. $1.00 Dollar isn't a big deal but $1.00 from me and $1.00 from others adds up. Ace Hardware should refund you the exact amount you paid for a item when you have your receipt. Ace in Springfield just lost a customer. I'll do business with the White House Tn location in the future for anything I need.

So I miss hardware store...ill start there. The expierence at your local hardware is a lot different than a big box store. The people ask you if you need help. Then tend to stock items the local neighbors need specific to their houses and in exchange you pay a little more. A walk through a hardware store is like a trip down memory lane without Lowes or Amazon being able to compete. I dont know what the future has in store for Ace as a brand but they are trying to compete in a difficult marketplace. Me personally will go to the local Ace when I can not just because I have to. What in bought there I could have gone to lowes for but i chosse to spend my little 7$ at ace just because I could, and wouldn't get punished for doing so. I hope I dont see the end of the local hardware. This Ace could do better but they are staying loyal to the employees that have always worked there. You can find better examples in other surrounding towns but this one is good. You can see they have found a niche with local government and schools but I really hope they find a way to stick around. So if you live in Springfield like i do, try your best to spend some money at this Ace. Yes you can probably find it cheaper elsewhere but you wont find an experience like a hardware store at any homedepot or lowes.

Some of the best service you will receive in Springfield. Always ask if you need help the moment you enter. If they are busy and you manage to slip past. They will come find you and ask if you need assistance. Most places you are lucky if you can even hunt someone down.
