I have never had a bad experience until today. A lady approached my sons from behind the cashier’s desk while we were scanning our items at the self checkout and said “don’t forget the stocking stuffers”. I understood they need to be aware due to possible theft but there was a line of people needing her help and she insisted on WATCHING me and my kids. It is my birthday and we were getting our Elf on a shelf supplies for this week. She kind of ruined it for me. Please do better!

This Dollar General Store is conveniently located less than a half mile from my home. So we frequently visit this location. We will visit for something as small as a pack of batteries, dog food, or as big as picking up a few groceries. On average, we visit about 3 to 4 times a week. The employees are consistently very professional, friendly, and helpful. I have never had any employees at this location ever be rude or unwilling to assist me. They are ALWAYS busy with stocking the store, assisting customers, or cleaning. I can't recall a time that I have went into this store and saw an employee just standing around doing nothing. Yet I have never been made to feel like I was bothering them whenever they had to stop what they were doing to help me. The store is like any other Dollar General. It always has inventory in the aisles, but it is never just left there. Someone is always working on stocking. This store is probably one of the better Dollar General Stores that is kept orderly as much as possible and 99.999% of the time has the products that I am going there to purchase in stock. Unlike Walmart, who has become notorious for being out of stock on the majority of products. If this Dollar General is out of stock on an item, it is usually because the company that produces it doesn't have it and not because Dollar General isn't good at inventory management. For example, we buy Purina Dog Chow Savory Beef flavor dry dog food. We always purchase it at Dollar General. However, in the past year, we have had trouble finding it. Even at Dollar General. But this is because Purina isn't sending it to the stores. Not because DG isn't handling their inventory levels. Also, the prices are pretty competitive. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because they don't accept manufacturer's coupons. I'm not sure why they decided not to do so, but I think this is a bad business decision. But with that said, you do receive a $5.00 off coupon on $25 or more from the store every time you shop that can be used on the following Saturday on any regular priced items in the store. I think that helps offset the no manufacture coupon policy a little bit.

Why is it that upper Corp people make so much money but your stores can’t be properly run with adequate number of employees???? This could be the down fall of dollar general. We are hard working Americans that you guys are abusing. And lack of product on the shelves cost you so much lost money that you and your employees could be making.

Store employees are incredibly rude here. For example: One employee deliberately ignored someone asking for his help walking away and later refuse to check them out. Instead, he chose to check out another customer and not even acknowledge them as they left. Apparently, this employee seems to think he is above helping those he dislikes. This employee doesn't need to be working the register, much less interacting with customers, if he can't be semi decent and respectful of people who need his help.
