Bill Landry is a FRAUD! I was in there on 11/21 so I could get together what I needed to file my taxes. I even asked if I could record the conversation as I have ADHD and it is very hard for me to organize documents, and so anytime I do things like this I record conversations so I can go back and listen to what I need. It’s never ever been a problem but the first red flag should have been him saying no when I asked to record for my own records, as if he was doing something wrong. I didn’t want to cause a scene or anything, so I respected that. When we were looking at my IRS info he noticed I was missing $1800 from the IRS stimulus in 2020, however I did not have - and I am still not - in the position to pay $800+ to file my taxes as the past 3 years has been a massive financial crisis for me. When I made him aware of what my financial situation was, he told me VERBATIM that while I gather the documents and funds needed to pay to file my taxes, he would be more than happy to get the claim submitted/filed free of charge so I could get the $1800 from the IRS for the stimulus. I clarified with him 3 times, making sure I heard correctly and he said “yes, I’ll get that filed this evening and you come back to me when you have everything ready.” I was under the impression this was happening for me, and was waiting on that stimulus to get my taxes filed, as his words were clear as day! It had been a while since that so today I thought I’d call them back to see what the wait was and how it was coming along, and I found out it was never claimed as I thought, and he completely gaslit me into saying I misunderstood and that he doesn’t remember saying that but I KNOW I am NOT crazy, as I doublechecked with him 3 times, even right before leaving. He told me “well I would never say that as I can’t file it for free” but he DID say that! I am not out of my mind, I am not imagining things, and I am absolutely not falling into someone’s blatant gaslighting so I will take the fall for HIS mistake and misguidance! I absolutely KNOW what he told me, and if he shouldn’t have said that, he should have owned up and admitted his mistake, but instead he passed it off as if I was the one in the wrong, and that he has “no recollection” of saying that. This is absolutely disgusting, and I will make sure to NEVER use H&R Block for tax purposes ever again.

Made appointment for this location two weeks ago with Rosemary for 6pm today. I called to see if we could bump the appointment up to an earlier time and was informed Rosemary cancelled our appointment giving no reason and did not notify us. Pretty sure I could get better more professional service at The Dollar Tree.

They wanted me to pay $145 for entering probably less than 20 lines of information. I could have done this myself. They advertise transparent prices there are none. I promise you that you can just get the $35 tax software and do this yourself.
