Reading these reviews I was borderline nervous to step foot inside LOL. But our 2 recent experiences while staying nearby were excellent. Friendly fella at the counter chit chatted with us. Yes everything is high $$--there aren't many options around so ..duh?! :) Don't like it? Plan ahead and make sure you bring absolutely everything you need for your trip. We came back that evening for some BBQ and it was delicious. We got a pound of pulled pork to go and it was so deliciously smoky.

While I would normally suggest supporting locally owned establishments I can’t say this place is that great. They’re highly overpriced-for everything. Almost $7 for a small bag of Doritos is insane. Their meals were just ok. No/very few vegetarian options. Be careful-the mac and cheese has bacon in it.

Really wish we could say something nice. Tried several times. We did find a Dollar General not too far away as an alternative.

A great selection of healthy foods and local items along with standard convenience store fair. It was really good to find plenty of gluten free options (several Siete products for example) and stevia sweetened drinks… even kombucha. Didn’t expect such treats in a small store at the entrance to a state park.The exterior is pretty and the interior is clean. Tomorrow I’ll be back for coffee!

We camped not far from here and this place is AWESOME. The owners are extremely nice. We needed ice and wood and the woman opened back up 30 min after closing. Back and shopped next day they were very friendly. So we also rented canoes and did their float. Price was very reasonable. We will be back.

I'd give it four stars but they stretch rope across their parking lot entrance when closed. Caught me off guard. Darn near ran right through it. Had to swerve to the left. Almost sideswiped the car behind me. No I wasn't speeding. One just doesn't expect to pull into a convenience store/gas station only to encounter a rope gate.

Good Southern Food and BBQ made fresh and smoked at the store. I have been going here for years. It is delightful to sit on the porch watching stream flo by on a summer morning while eating some of the best biscuit meat sandwiches I ever ate. Yummmm love this place. Oh you can rent a kayak and float down the lazy river. I know sounds like a lot of hype but it is true!

I wanna give you a 0 but that’s not possible , so I give you a 1.Disclaimer ( The saddest part of this interaction is My mom didn’t even wanna go, my little brother just passed away ON MOTHERS DAY and this happens on Father’s Day her first time getting out of the house & not to mention it’s my husbands very first Father’s Day and he is in the military , this is how they treat people grieving & fighting for our country).(( I ALSO HAVE VIDEO PROOF OF THIS INCIDENT))I love the location of this place & it’s set up is super cute however every single time my mom has come here The owners daughter I believe is absolutely distasteful and super super rude I mean every single time .This particular time today to be exact My mother asked nicely for a receipt cause I had ordered Mac & cheese as a side & when my husband (whom is of African decent) ordered Mac & cheese the owner tells him there is non made.So my mom says “didn’t you just charge my daughter for Mac & cheese but told my son in law there is non”She replies yes I did does she want a different side?So my mom asks for the receipt & the owners daughter starts yelling at my mom “ UH MAM OUR MEALS ARE 12$ Everytime y’all come in here you complain about our prices , WE don’t HAVE to serve y’all this is private property”By this time I was recording and my mom was asking the woman to just stop and hurry up and get our food please.She says I’m about to give you a refund and you can leave.So my mom replies we’ll why don’t you just do that.Not to mention as we were walking out the man behind the counter yells “peace out b*tches”So we said it back.I just went thru other reviews and this place needs NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES.Because The customer service is very poor.We will NEVER EVER be back .

This place is in a great location and I always liked to stop there. Today they were very unfriendly. Rushing you and acting as if you're a burden. We customers keep you open so it would be wise to treat us with kindness.

I wouldn’t leave your boat trailer with these people. After putting ours in their lot years ago and paying them with a check, we assumed they would bill us or auto draft our annual payment. We didnt access our trailer for years. After deciding to sell our boat, we tried to call them literally 30 times over a two week period to get the code and settle up with them. Nobody would ever call us back. My husband finally drove an hour and a half up there to try and reach someone hoping there would be an alternative phone number. Finally somebody who works there drove by and asked him what he was doing and he told them he was trying to get the gate code and settle up for our trailer rental. He paid up our rent to get the code and being treated like a criminal, they said he couldn’t have the code until the check cleared. We had someone coming the next day to buy the boat. Luckily he had some cash on him from a vacation and they gave it to him. Total pain and very unprofessional. Their on line hours say open and they are never there.

Great BBQ and market. Good beer selection. Had groceries for camping. And we had a wonderful floating experience down the Caney. Would recommend!

I live nearby the Big Rock Market and have 2 Airbnb's that stay busy with kayakers and outdoor lovers. I have lived in this area for 18 years, have eaten here many times, shopped at their kayak store and used their kayak rentals. I have also recommended this place to our Airbnb guests for kayaking. But I will never recommend this place again! I ordered $40 worth of plate lunches for the family and got home with the wrong side. I went back to get the correct side, the owner questioned if I was going to pay for the side even though it was their mistake giving me the wrong one. I said "no, you gave me the wrong side, do you want me to go get that side?" He ended up giving me the correct side but was rude to me and questioned if I was trying to get a free cup of coleslaw! He held it in his hand and wouldn't let go of it while I argued with him about a $3 cup of slaw. By this point I was very upset and left saying not nice words and he proceeded to follow me to the parking lot where he called me a damn yankee! I was wearing a mask and I don't know if that is why he called me this as I have very southern in accent. I will never go back to this store and recommend you stay away from this hateful business owner. I am appalled that a place I used to find so nice to visit was so rude to a well paying customer. I guess they can afford to treat customers rudely and loose business.

Terrible owners and very dirty bathrooms…someone had diarrhea in the bathroom and I told the clerk and she said I should clean it up if bothered me that much… absolute worst service and very rude people.This place should be shut down by the health department.
