211 Harriet Tubman St, Knoxville“Slummy Rock would be the last place I would go for any reason.I mean, if I was starving, I wouldn't even try to eat there at the soup kitchen.Fasten your seatbelt's folks cause I have a very funny story for you.Okay, theres a new law in tennessee called the "tennessee food freedom act," which allows people to produce non potentially hazardous foods in their home, and sell them anywhere in the state of Tennessee, So long as the finished product does not require refrigeration. That's what makes it non potentially hazardous. So food freedom act producers like myself are subject to inspections by the tennessee department of health, so i'm just putting that out there for folks that think that there's no oversight with home food production in Tennessee, because there is.I'm saying this because I don't want people to think that my application to sell in the slummy rock parking lot was rejected because it's against the law for me to sell homemade food products in retail establishments because it's not. The law actually even preempts city ordinances, so even the city of knoxville can't even come in and tell businesses that they cannot allow us to sell our products in their establishments, because, again,The tennessee food freedom act overrides any and all local city anc county ordinances. So basically, all a business has to do if they want to allow a food freedom act producer to sell their products through their shop or venue is just get the food freedom act produced to add their business name to the producer's food liability Insurance policy, and it doesn't cost the business anything, that's done at the cost of the food producer.Anyhoo,This place is in my neighborhood, and I noticed that there were some tents in the parking lot, it looked like the beginnings of a flea market or farmers market, So I decided to inquire about setting up a tent there to sell.I walked in there about four times asking for an application, which took about a 4 month period, because I'm a truck driver, and I'm on the road a lot. When I come home on vacation, I go to farmers markets, etc, to sell my spices. I thought it was really silly that I had to keep showing up in person to get a paper application in person, I mean who even does that any more, most normal people do everything online now, so although I didn't really have time to deal with these people's "in person application" nonsense, I stopped by there about four times, about once a month, And finally after all of that, I got an application, and I filled it out, and I was told I would be contacted. Apparently, this was a big, scary, important decision, ?this decision was up to someone named "apostle blah blah blah" anyhoo,I guess after many seconds of prayer and supplication, "apostle blah blah blah" decided that I wasn't good enough to set up a tent in his nasty parking lot, but it's okay, because my products are in physical stores now.so, ok,slummy rock,I'm good,I got this,Your help is not needed.”
“Wonderful church, wonderful pastor, and a wonderful congregation of people. A great cultural mix of every race, age, and ethnic background you can imagine. A great Sunday School program for both adults and children. Robust bus ministry throughout the entire city (and that includes the inner city)! The church is involved in various initiatives to reach the unsaved and the poor of this city. If you are looking for a church that teaches the fundamental principles of the bible and people who try to live by those principles, this would be a great place for you to worship. They have been a great support base and an overall huge blessing to my family and I--they would like nothing more than to do the same for you. Most importantly, if you do not know the Lord as your Savior, simply call someone at the church or come visit and it would be a tremendous honor to take the Bible and show you how you can have a home in Heaven!”
