The Dan Company, a pleasure to work with. Professional, communicates, promises and delivers. They took the entire project from start to finish and the outcome was outstanding. They are so professional, the team members for the Dan Company are very dedicated to you and your project. You really don't need to go anywhere else.

Showed up on time and communicated professionally and personably. Shared expectations regarding time-frames, budgets and likely contingencies during front end discussion.

We were very pleased with the work The Dan Company did. They were communicative with us and were available for any questions we had in the process. The subs they used were courteous and cleaned up after every day of work. Due to some internal challenges at The Dan Company the project took longer than expected. However The Dan Company was very transparent with us.

Absolutely a wonderful company to work with. Always had good communication. Always answered any questions or concerns that I might have had. A special shout out to Tony. He did a magnificent job of keeping things moving forward. Would definitely recommend The Dan Company.

The Dan Co. has tackled three large projects in our home - an attic-gym conversion, a kitchen renovation and a screened-in porch. We had white-glove treatment from planning to completion and we couldn't imagine working with anyone else!

We used Dan Company for a renovation/addition project and it was/is a disaster. I’m giving them two stars because the house looks pretty good if you’re looking at the big picture, but once you get into the details things get messy… and the communication/service was awful for majority of the project.
I’m not sure what the worst part was. To start, over our 5-month project we have had 4 different project managers and 2 different general contractors under Dan Co, causing unnecessary chaos and confusion. Throughout the project there has been a lack of communication and transparency. We constantly have to chase Dan Co for answers on when or why something was done, we found they’d been mismanaging our money - paying for items before anything was done and then marking down the payment in the wrong budget line and are unable to tell us what the payment was for. We have caught several items that they sent invoices for that ended up being a double billing issue on their end. They would do work not in the scope of the project and then send a change order after the fact, essentially tying our hands to pay for it. Last, but not least, we found out they had discovered a homeless woman living in our master bathroom (after we’d started moving in our items) just days before we were to fully move in, presumably due to not locking up the house appropriately - they were not planning on telling us this, but we found random clothes piled up in the bathroom and inquired.
Other items of concern include that our basement flooded because they didn’t properly shut off the water to the house before a major winter storm and a pipe had burst (we were not living in the house) - we discovered the issue a couple of days after the storm (no one had come by from Dan Co) and upon entering heard water gushing into our basement which we had been storing things in. I won’t go into details about what it took to get reimbursed for those damaged items… We also had other items stored in a room that was supposed to be sealed off but never was, so those items were covered in construction debris that we had to clean up (not Dan Co). We were told they would do (and have been charged for) construction clean up, but it’s been near a month and it has not been completed so we ended up cleaning up trash in the yard and pressure washing the patio areas ourselves.
We have voiced concerns to Dan during the project, but never spoke with him directly and were just met with pacifications by other members of his team. We are now sitting at around $40k over budget (primarily for items that were not budgeted properly for, or at all, in our bid) and begging them to get out here and finish the project so we can be done. I don’t think it needs to be said, but I would never use Dan Co again nor recommend them to anyone I know.

I want to start by saying I did NOT use Dan Company for my project but if I have to do a remodel again I will definitely be reaching out to them. I was remodeling a basement to add a kitchen, bathroom, and some other living space. I reached out to a bunch of contractors that would come out and give a quote and then never provide one for whatever reason. With Dan, he came out and it was clear pretty quickly that he would be out of my price range. But he still listened to me, answered questions, and made suggestions.
I was pretty sure when he left I wouldn't be hearing back from him just like some of the others, but to my surprise few days later he called me with some follow up questions and things he thought could save me money. Then a few days after that provided me with a full detailed quote that was actually cheaper than I thought it would be.
It was still out of my price range so I went ahead and contracted it myself but let me tell you, next time I'll definitely just work overtime to pay for a professional. Pretty sure I lost a few years off my lifespan due to stress and that's not something I ever want to go through again.
But I really wanted to thank Dan for the idea to put a window in my bathroom. It was something I wouldn't have considered or thought possible until it was too late and I really like it and look out it everyday. If I need a contractor for something else he will be the first person I call for sure.

Writing my review 1 year after my major remodel was completed. I'm so happy to have hired Dan Co. They were the only bidders on my job that didn't ignore some structural issues, and worked out a plan to handle it in the least invasive, most cost effective way. They hire crafts-people rather than just contractors and subs. Professionals and good at what they do. I lived on the property, so they saw me every day they were working. Any time I had a correction or change, I was told "it's your house, it has to be right" rather than getting snark over our detailed design requirements. The only budget overages were changes I initiated.
All of the good reviews are well deserved - I'll reach out to Dan Company for my next projects.

Dan was fabulous! Was he the lowest bid? No. But the expertise and guidance that he provided me after my whole home renovation was abandoned by another contractor was invaluable. My project manager, Jake, was a joy to work with. He was always responsive.

The Dan team came in and totally renovated our Frankenstein house on time and on budget. Friendly, good communication, will definitely use them for our next project.

I'll be completely honest: An absolutely great job. We had a small half-bath torn out and re-modeled and it looks like a million bucks. My wife said we should have dinner in there--best looking room in the house. Now... it was a little bit pricier than I expected and took a little longer than they originally said (I've noticed that's pretty normal these days with inflation and labor shortages), but you couldn't ask for a better result, so it was well worth it. And you couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with. Everyone, from the owner on down, was personable, understanding, and concerned about getting things right.

After 10 minutes of an arrogant and condescending attitude, Dan throws out an absolutely absurd bid, 10s of Ks over my other bids. I laughed all the way back into the house ... actually, I'm still laughing.
