Do not sleep on the sammies at Smokin Oaks! By far the best in Nashville. Not sure how there's not a line out the door every day at lunchtime! You can literally taste the freshness in every bite.

You can't fully experience Nashville without trying Smokin Oaks Organic Farms Market. It is the definition of farm-to-table with a southern hospitality, Nashville-level flair. It's a butcher shop, it's a farm market, it's got grab-and-go food, it has dine-in options, it's got meals designed for your family and freezer, it has catering options, it has a food truck...it's all in one! This is not only the best butcher shop in Nashville, but it is the CLEANest. They are very strict on organic items that lack inflammatory oils so even your most gut-sensitive and allergy-sensitive friends can enjoy food from here. I recommend you also frequently check their instagram as a lot of the talented locals and farmers who supply certain items at the store come in for demos. They have phenomenal sandwiches, burgers, soups, and salads as part of their deli and they have other to-go items - snacks, meals, freezer-friendly, and meal prep items. I truly believe this shop has something for everyone. It's gotten to the point where I'd rather buy a "take and bake" meal by Chef Eva than go to a fine dining restaurant. The quality and creativity of the meals is just that good. From the BBQ Mac n Cheese and the braised beef to the feta whip and game day dip selection, you really can't go wrong with anything she makes. The ginger and orange beets, creamed collard greens, caprese salad, and other sides are outstanding as well. If it's fall, don't miss out on her pumpkin or other spiced desserts...YUM.The team is both talented and friendly. You'll often find the cattle farmer and owner, Justin, educating customers on the benefits of pasture-raised meat and how he works his farm. You'll also find William, a wealth of knowledge with years of experience in organic grocers and with his own experience as one of the best bread bakers in town (if he tells you he just pulled focaccia out of the oven, do yourself a favor and get two - one for later and one for the car ride home). You'll also get personalized recommendations from experts like Rod. It's truly a pleasant shopping experience and they care that you get nutrients and nourishment from your food.

oh. my. GOODNESS. the emphasis on goodness is necessary. i came for beef bacon (which they no longer make/sell because of low demand and organic beef bacon goes bad quickly) BUT my breakfast was saved with a DELICIOUS breakfast sandwich sausage link!!!I was skeptical after the butcher told me all the things inside, like potatoes and cheese. but my oh my. what a nice sandwich it made! all i needed to add was a fried egg. i come for the jerky and other things just to try out. i have never been disappointed!i am so glad to live so close to this place, and what makes me even more happy is the service. everyone is knowledgeable, patient, kind and friendly. couldn't ask for a better neighborhood shop!

I cannot believe that I somehow missed this incredible butcher shop and market for over a year! I was driving by one day and finally noticed their sign by the road and started following them on Instagram. Not long later I was able to come in to check out the space. The interior is large and they have a ton of refrigerated meats, sides and delicious meals. They also offer dried goods, fresh vegetable and fruits and some of the best deli sandwiches I've ever had. Each week they post a sandwich of the week on Instagram, which I've sampled two (the music city muffuletta and ham/pesto) and so freaking delicious. Note that they are huge and hold up incredibly well. No soggy bread or mushy ingredients in their products! Additionally, we've ordered their catering which was another level as well. I highly recommend you check them out. It will be your new favorite shop!

Killer, fair prices on what is so clearly fresh and delicious product. Either these guys actually care about the quality of their product and service or they're REALLY good actors. Rare find, will become a regular stop for me.

Everything about my experience here was nothing short of welcoming and wonderful! The produce is mostly locally sourced while the meat is grown on the owner's farm. Other items are handpicked, with top-of the-line brands that use clean ingredients which is perfect for an organic family household. The owner, Justin, showed me around after he packaged up my choice of meats. He was kind enough to show me the different locally sourced items around the store - from the fermented foods in the coolers to the locally grown vegetables and herbs.I am so glad to know there are still owners out there that value impeccable customer service. If you are looking for a local marketplace of fresh organic meats and ingredients, that is open throughout the week, please drive near or far to shop here! I will be back at least biweekly.

Smokin Oaks is my favorite place in Nashville. As a Nashville native and a holistic nutritionist, I take my recommendations seriously and I recommend Smokin Oaks to everyone I know. Butcher shop - the meat is the highest quality and their cuts are incredible. The owner, farmer Justin, not only works the shop a few days per week but he also runs the farm where the meat comes from. The meat is grass fed and grain finished (free of glyphosphate, chemicals, etc). In TN, our grasses are such that if you were to eat meat that was only grass fed, it wouldn't have much fat to it and it would taste like dirt. Their meat has fabulous flavor and you can trust that the animals are not exposed to harmful chemicals - they love the dream grazing the land as they were meant to. We value their meat so much that we prefer to buy meat from them and cook it ourselves as opposed to going to a steakhouse or other fine dining restaurant. The quality is just that much better. Their selection of sausages are the best in Nashville - it can turn bacon lovers into sausage lovers. Market - their organic market is outstanding. They source everything as locally as they can so you truly are getting a "taste of Nashville" in every way when you shop and eat there. Not to mention, you're supporting local farms and vendors. William is very intentional with the vendors who supply the store and if you ask him, he'll share their story, the value of the product, and why it was selected. It truly gives you a deeper appreciation for the food and makes you feel proud to spend your money there. I love the produce from Bloomsbury farms, the kombucha, kefirs, and kimchi from Short Mountain Cultures, and the granola and cookies from 4U Foods (don't skip the mad munch granola or laced cookies!). Deli - as far as grab and go foods, prepared items, and sides go - it's the best in Nashville. Their chef, Eva, is a talented chef from Charleston and I love everything she cooks. Pulled pork Mac N Cheese, assorted types of chicken salad, pimento cheese, hummus, bean dip, salsa, soups, bolognese, casseroles - they're all phenomenal. During holidays and big sporting event weekends, they even tailor the deli with party foods so you can build the best charcuterie or bring the best dip! All of their deli items are free of inflammatory oils and use organic and local foods so you can feel confident in what you're eating. Their sandwiches and salads are incredible. I would go as far to say as their sandwiches are the best in Nashville with the quality of the meat, the fresh baked bread, and the sauce, cheese, and veggie offerings. Their meatballs are great, too, and it's hard to decide if the "keto meatballs", Chef will's meatballs, or Chef Eva's meatballs are best - you'll have to cast your vote on this review! Atmosphere - outside of the quality and attention to organic with no inflammatory oils, the other thing that sets Smokin Oaks apart are the people. Southern hospitality is at an all-time high when you're there. They treat you like family, offer suggestions, and even can educate you on the nutritional value of their offerings. It's hard to imagine a place with nicer folks or better service. It's truly enjoyable to be there. I shop there regularly and consider many of the folks there friends. Food Truck- keep your eyes on social media because you don't want to miss it when their food truck is open. From their fresh cut French fries cooked in beef lard to their burgers, steak and eggs, and fried chicken - it's outstanding.
