I have worked for U.S Corrections and U.S. Prisoner Transport (both companies now merged under PTS) for over five years and have been treated with nothing but respect. When I needed time off for family issues it was granted every time; when I asked for help I was given it.My initial pay grade was minimal, as with any company, and as I progressed in the company I was given raises accordingly. Yes the hours are long when assigned to a ground unit (Vans and busses), however, I and the persons hired with me were told that in our training. In reading the other reviews here, I have noticed that former prisoners and their family members, as well disgruntled and terminated former employees seem to be the majority of the complaints. The company is contracted to move prisoners by courts, sheriffs offices and state corrections agencies, to mention a few. The prisoners transported are treated in accordance with requirements set forth under federal law and mandates. Are the prisoners coddled? No. Are the prisoners shackled and handcuffed? Yes, required by law. If prisoners expect to be pampered while being transported and imprisoned, they have very unreasonable expectations. Don't blame the transport agency or the jurisdiction requesting the transport... don't commit crimes.

I really enjoyed working here and the training was good and prepared us for transporting the prisoners. however I do think that theydid not give us tools to prepare ourselves to be on the road and the van like that for weeks on end and that they should give us more down time at our stops because stopping for 12 hours when you've been in the van /on the road for three or four days at a time doesn't really give you enough time to truly relax , the12 hours doesn't give us time to wash our clothes / dry them and get some really good meals in our tummys and by the time we get all that stuff done we'll only have maybe five or six hours of actual really good sleep some people may be okay with that but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that would want to be out of the van more than 12 13 hours.

Would I do it again? Probably. They let me keep credentials... And that was 5 years ago - and yep its still in my wallet for reminiscing. My Paperweight's still on a chain hanging in my office.

I was told that the owners of PTS are lawyers. If indeed that is the case, then they are knowingly violating people's civil rights as well as a few laws.

Absolutely the worst organized incompetent buisness. Changed the price on transporting a prisoner 3 times. The last time jumped the price from 5k to 12k on a friday before the monday that prisoner had to be picked up. Absolutely ridiculous.

This was by far the worst road trip I ever was forced to take. Shackled at the waist and feet, we rode for two days straight, stopping every 6 to 8 hours to take a bathroom break at a County Jail along the way. 48 hours of driving. Then a 24 hour break. Then back to it. It was awful. I hope this never happens to me again haha. Thanks for feeding us McDonald's though!!!!

Your new web site isn't user friendly. My office has reverted to emails to place orders as the web site won't open. We can't even find it on the internet. Our computer staff says it has so many bugs in it all our safe-guards block it!

Very poorly run company and very uncaring nonprofession all drivers. They loose inmates personal items and do not treat them like human beings. They drive reckless and put people in harms way. We need to start using a new transport company! This one has a very poor rating for years and I now understand why. Break this contract!!

Was transported to Oklahoma then Mississippi then back to California. I now have nerve pain and numbness in my left hand. Terrible treatment. Should be illegal to have someone in one position that long. I am 6'4" and my knees were pressed for almost 40 hours. Abuse.....
